He raised an eyebrow at his fellow Sentinel and the much larger man just shrugged and holstered his weapon. He glanced towards Teyla and found her dressed similarly to her Sentinel—complete with a pulse pistol he refused to envy on general principal. Though he had whined, in private, to his own Guide extensively about his lack of a truly sci-fi kind of weapon. Then for the twenty minutes after that, it had been a source of honest to God ‘woohoo’ fun. After that, he’d forced himself to actually start collecting data on it. Of course, in retrospect he should have told his Sentinel what he was up to—but he got caught up in the excitement. So, when he let Peter Grodin push him off the balcony in the gateroom he really wasn’t thinking about how it would look to anyone else, including his Sentinel. They learn the name of a new enemy and a new threat for Earth. * * * * John tapped his ink pen on the desk he shared with McKay. The office above the gateroom had an excellent overview of the area and afforded him a great location to look both like he knew what the fuck he was doing and keep an eye on how truly messed up things were.
