Harry Potter

I ship Harry/Draco, Harry/Hermione and Harry/Hermione/Draco.
I will not tolerate any homophobia from my readers whatsoever.

NOTICE: Due demands, whining, and outright entitlement I’m taking hiatus from posting my Harry Potter works. The crap was making me hate my own work and that’s not cool. I don’t know when I’ll come back to it, but it’ll be probably well into 2018 if not longer.

(I might have missed your fiction maybe lots of bunches? 😀 )

    Good to have you back!

  2. OMG
Last minute check before bed and new fic!
I don’t really need to sleep tonight.
I can nap in the staff room 🙂

    Thank you!!!!

  3. XD you updated!!! I’m reading it all right now – that exerpt really whet my appetite!

  4. Yay! I’m in the middle of moving but this is now safely on my kindle to read for later. 😀

  5. OMG, I love you for this. It’s like one of the best fics ever (and I don’t even really like Harry/Draco pairings). Still, I’m glad you’ve gotten back to these lovely stories, it makes my frigid little heart warm to see that much more “naughtiness” has been brought back for our viewing pleasure.

I hope to see more soon!

  6. Oh WOW – I’m absolutely beside myself with the idea of you writing HP fiction. I’m off to grab and dump onto my eBook reader but THANK YOU so much for sharing. I’ll be back when I’ve read it to leave something other than a squee post!

    MJ 😀

  7. Yes! I can hardly wait to see if Fan Art appears!

  8. i just read the whole wonderful work , & what can I say , other then , this was a perfect end to a long boring work day!. thank you so much for sharing this world with us all. I really love the harry wakes up and takes conrol of his fate/destiny stories.( I also love LOVE love harry channeling his inner McKay!!)

  9. Yum!! There is noting better then snuggling in with a good glass of wine and a new Keira fic!!!! Its a good thing that sleep is optional…cause as long as no one wakes up to guilt me into going to bed…I’m going to enjoy my night!!!!!

  10. OMG YES! You have become my favorite author ever! The only reason you weren’t before (though you were my second) was because you didn’t write Harry Potter fic and that is my favorite fandom. Now you have and I am beyond stoked! Awesome! This was a great read and I will probably re-read it again tomorrow…WOOT!

  11. Started the Snoopy dance when I saw this beginning to post. I have been reading it ever since, with a little sleeping thrown in. Thank you for a lovely story that entertained for hours. I haven’t read much in this fandom and this by far outshines everything else I have read. Thank you.

  12. Good to see you back. Hope le has healed well.

  13. You are one of two writers whre I don’t FIRST read the story – I just at once copied it on my ebook-reader gg. And I’m no fan of Harry/Draco.

But a new universe from you is too big a temptation, so now I will spend the night reading – who needs sleep anyway…

    Thank you.

  14. This is marvelous. Thank you.

  15. I am very happy that you are posting fic again. You are definately the HBiC of fanfiction. I’m gonna go read the fic now!

  16. How marvelous! I have been on your email update list for ages, but didn’t get notification when this story went up. What a lovely surprise to find when I was going to re-read Tangled Destinies in anticipation of the (hopefully soon!) forthcoming update. I don’t usually ship Harry/Draco, but I very much enjoyed the story. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent.

  17. This was so awesome and fantastic to read after spending so much time on my dissertation. I adore your sga work and you’ve now persuaded me to try a new fandom.

  18. So glad that you are back! I thought you disapared and just left us all hangiing. I love that you are expanding to more fandoms. I love this HP world you have created I can not want for more.

  19. Keira
Welcome back, hope you are well on the way to full health. I never really liked HP Fiction, only ever enjoyed one story by desolete03 called A Consorts Loyalty also the sequel (can never get the title right)., but this is really fabulous. I know you have a full fiction diary, cannot wait for you SGA sequels but I will wait with baited breath for a HP sequel. Once again welcome back.
    Love Cat

  20. Ahhhhhhhhh! I have been waiting for the next part of Tangled Destinies (or anything Stargate), and then today, when I randomly went on Delicious for some H/D, there you were! There was shrieking! You are awesome. That is all.

  21. What a wonderful story, I was so excited to see a new story and was a little bit unsure as it was HP, but your writing skill shone through and I really, really enjoyed it. Thank you so much for sharing;0) and I can’t wait for more.

  22. Oh my goodness, I love your writing, and even though I’m not a big fan of HP fanfic, I thought I’d have a read seeing as I’ve read everything else and am eagerly awaiting updates. Wow. So good that I stayed up way later than I should to read it all, and so well written that when I then woke up the next day (this morning in fact) I reached for my wrist and a portkey to get me to Uni, my mind was still processing your great writing.

Thanks so much, and keep going on.

  23. Oh my.
I’ve not commented on anything you’ve written before, I just kind of hang around lurker-style and hoping for updates! But I had to comment and tell you how awesome I think this was! I literally stayed up nearly all night to read it, and I’m SO glad I did (even with the sleep deprivation). I loved it, particularly the depth you put into creating a unique take on the magical world,

  24. I have been re-reading your HP fic and I was curious as to why you wrote it. Please note that this is not complaint but a genuine query into the creation of the fic. because I don’t recall you mention even a pasting fancy for the books or movies!

    • I’ve read all of the books. In fact, I got in line at midnight to buy the last two I was so excited to see how it would end. That being said–I’ve never watched any of the movies.

I broke my foot in the fall and in a fit of boredom – I started reading fanfic in the HP fandom. Eventually, I read so much that I just decided to write something I guess as a thank you to the fandom for amusing me. Which is why I crammed it full of snark and sunshine and cliches. Because I was amused and a little stoned on pain meds.

  25. I was never into the Harry/Draco pairing untill you wrote it now I’m hooked. I found this story an hoped you like as much as i did.

the writing style reminded me of you.

  26. And maybe someday there will be another whole fic following these two? Because it would be wonderful to see what happens to them and everyone else in the end.

  27. Thank you for posting your fic “Birth of the Serpent King”. I’ve read a lot if H/D, and can easily place this in my top 10, if not top 5. You’ve brought a different side of these familiar faces to life, in a vivid and colourful portrayal. Your Harry has what I would have wished for canon-Harry, and your Draco is a perfect blend of his own superior snotty self tempered by painful reality in a way that canon-Draco never had a chance to show us.

Thank you – and I can only hope you write more HP fics in the future.

  28. My favorite things about this fic, are that Harry is horrified by the lack of responsibility everyone in the Wizarding World demonstrates, and his (I think quite justifiable) diagnosis of it as resulting from insufficient consequences.

This actually reminded me a bit of a post I read recently about “things to be mad at JKR about,” which discussed some of the racism, sexism, and general badness and prejudice in some of her sub-plots (no Slytherins stayed, and girls who like make-up are bimbos- just sayin’), despite the author’s stated mission to convey the opposite.

The thing about HP is: I really think the fundamental moral message and center of the whole universe – our choices determine who we are, and love redeems us and is the most powerful force in our lives – is really dead-on. I like that.

But I feel like as often as not, despite preachin’ it right, JKR misses her own point. So I absolutely love fanfic, where some author picks up on that and fixes some part of it. And that is exactly what you did here. So, THANKS.

Also, I got through my adolescence by assuring myself that Harry was gay – Dumbledore’s queerness, while appreciated, was not an adequate consolation prize – so I like that fix-it also.

  29. I love Serpent King and have re-read it seveal times. Any chance of a book two coming soon? Pretty please with chocolate covered cherries on top?

  30. Keira, you are an EVIL, EVIL woman! You’ve sucked me into yet another fandom!!

I’m not particularly a Harry Potter fan – I’ve never even seen any of the films, although I read each of the books once as they were published – and I certainly DON’T read Harry Potter fanfic, and yet I’ve read all three of your stories TWICE in the last four days!! In fact, the first thing I did when I woke up on Friday morning was to check my phone to see if the update for “the Soulmate Bond” had been uploaded. It hadn’t, as I’m in Ireland, and 5.45 Irish time is clearly too early wherever you are, but I was delighted to see and read it later.

I – obviously – love the stories. They’re well-written, entertaining, and I can’t wait to see what happens next. Your Harry is much more engaging than my recollections of the Harry in the books, although to be honest, I remember so few of the details, I should probably be regarding your work almost as original fiction. You have a wicked sense of humour that had me choking down laughter on the bus, and there are just so many good one-liners and tiny details that I want to say “that’s my favourite” till the next one.

And to think it all started because, having reread all the Sentinel/ Stargate “Evil Author Day” stuff on your LJ site, I thought “What the hell – I’ll just have a quick look at Keira’s take on Ginny Weasley,” as I have to say, when I read the end of “Deathly Hallows” and realised she and Harry were married, I went “WTF”. Your happy ever afters for Harry, whether it’s Draco or Hermione, are much more enjoyable, so thank you.

I have a quick question – because I remember so few of the details, is there a good “Idiot’s guide to Harry Potter” on the web that you’d recommend for me to refresh my memory and be able to distinguish between what’s canon and what’s your contribution to the magic etc. of the stories?

Again, thank you so much for the pleasure of reading your work, and long may your inspiration flower.

  31. Serpent King sequel anytime soon??? I love it!!

  32. I wanted to ask when you would post Unspeakable Plot on this site. I wanted to reread it.

  33. So I have a legit question that suddenly came to me last night. How do you think the Wizarding World reacted to 9/11? I mean, I know there are a lot of disasters and terrorist attacks that effect Europe, but 9/11 had a huge impact on the rest of the world. I’m sure Wizarding America, and especially Wizarding New York and DC, must have been in as much turmoil, chaos, and shock as the Muggles, but what about the rest of the Wizarding World? What about Wizarding Britain?

  34. Damn it girl!
You have made me LOVE reading HP fanfic! Damn it!
Have not liked other authors, since a lot of them writes under-aged fiction. Avoided reading it all together, still, just going to read your stories!
Love all your work, so the 2 mill words bar… Hope you will raise it to 5 mill…
When you post a story, it is making my day! Icing on the cake!
It is like finding a big diamond among lots of coal….
    You rock girl!

  35. scarlet standish

I need more of the “War Mages Trilogy” and “Birth of the Serpent King”. I hope you write more in both of those verses soon. Thank you for writing great stories.

  36. Hi,

First, I have to say, I appreciate how much work you put into all of your stories. Your writing is well developed and detailed, and I am very glad I found it. I stalk the sight regularly to check for updates and reread old favorites.

I do have an odd question for you though Keira. Logged onto the site on my phone a few days ago and found a story about Harry as a Elf Prince but it’s not showing up now. Was that a random easter egg?

  37. teddybearkittycat

The War Mage Trilogy. I finally read the first book in the trilogy and I am very interested in knowing when books 2 and 3 will be posted?

  38. Dimensional Shift made me cry. Thank you for the excerpts, they’re all wonderful. I hope your muses give you time to eat and sleep between writing this great fic.

  39. I’ve spent the past several days re-reading many of your fics in the fandoms we have in common. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for writing. Thank you for continuing to write despite the assholes that spew their shit all over you. Thank you for housing/running/hosting Rough Trade and for being a safe place for writers.

I love the complete and utter competence with which your characters navigate their stories. I love the original characters you have created for Harry Potter. I love how you’ve explored many different tropes and original ideas and how you have built on them from fic to fic. I LOVE the whole Peer of the Realm thing and am completely infatuated with everything about it.

I think it was last year — you did a Rough Trade challenge and did a time travel Harry/Hermione soul mate fic? To this day, I fondly recall many many MANY parts of that fic and look forward to the day you re-post it. I’m about to re-start HP & the SM Bond for the billionth time. But I may read your Sentinel fic first <– I've never watched that show but this month's RT challenge has intrigued me.

I found you through Crack_van — you were recced for Star Trek some time ago and Tangled Destiny is still one of my favorite ST fics. I have no idea if you play in that verse anymore but if you do or have had someone else play in your verse and write a little Sarek/Amanda I'd love to read them some day.

So, thank you for being an outspoken, fun, fan girl. I'll be over here stalking your site/newsletter eager for more.

    Happy summer,

  40. I keep forgetting to thank you for the High Contrast and Large Print buttons on your site. I had my left eye removed due to cancer a few years ago and have been susceptible to eyestrain headaches since then. I love your writing but could only read it for a short time before going to another site for a while or taking a nap. Now I can read your writings as long as I want without hurting my eye. So thanks for thinking of us differently-abled people.

  41. So I finally took the leap from lurker to minion last night, and I feel like a 3rd year in Honeydukes, honestly. Even my tablet was excited as it woke me up with a ping when you accepted my request. Of course then I absolutely couldn’t go back to sleep without taking a peek at all the new fic.

I originally started lurking here for the McShep which you may have guessed from my id, but you lured me into the HP fandom with the Harry/Draco stories first and then the Harry/Hermione ones. I’m especially fond of the story lines you write for the magical creatures such as the Potter elfs and goblins from the bank.

I also liked that Star Trek Reboot thing and it’s not my usual fandom.

Anyway, now I’m here I’ll probably still lurk a lot, but I’ll try to remember to leave comments sometimes too.

  42. Just posting this wondering why clicking on the Harry Potter section on my iPhone links me to the comments instead of the stories.,,,

  43. I love these stories. Well written, great plot and best of all, ‘good’ main characters have welldeveloped common sense. Thank you!!!
    Oh, and welcome back!

  44. Thank you so much for your stories. I have enjoyed immensely. Enjoyed your sneek peak stories. I look forward to more in the future.

  45. Having just read the four Harry Potter sneak peak stories all I can say is wow. They were so addictive I stayed up far too late and had an interesting day at work the following morning! Even if you never touch these again, I would like you to know I feel privileged that you shared these with us, thank you.

  46. I am an avid reader and have read more than a thousand works on the Harry Potter fandom, but none as intriguing and addictive as your works. I eagerly await your next endeavours.
    Go Keira!!

  47. I have been reading your sneak peeks and re-reading some of the others… I really enjoy your AUs…I get so excited whenever I see a notification of a new story or new chapter…

I just have one problem, the link for Phoenix sneak peek is not working for me…others were all okay..what is wrong with that link??

Anyway thanks for writing these 🙂

  48. Thank you for writing all of these stories. They’re lovely.

  49. Phoenix sneak peak= Fatal Error. Just wanted to let you know. I think the others are still working.

  50. I’ve never been a Harry Potter fan – never read any of the books, never saw the movies, never been tempted to read any of the fan fiction. Then I came to your site – first through the Sentinel, then on to Stargate stories (which I never watched, but did read fan fiction), then other stories of yours, and now I have even read your Harry Potter stories! Are you sure you are not magic?
I look forward to reading everything you have written. I do not think I would enjoy the original, from what I have gathered from the comments on yours, because I enjoy your versions too much.
Thank you for providing so many hours of reading. You have help to fill my days since I have retired and have limited mobility and thus unable to get out and about as much as I would like. Again, thank you.

  51. Just finished reading Phoenix. Love it! Thanks for the great read.

  52. *bows to Keira* I’ve just re-read all of these that I was interested in, and I ended up wanting to send you to the couch and make you tea and buns to say thanks! *grins*

  53. Watching Happiness Burn

I love everything you write and send you nothing but kudos. Recently I’ve been trying to find a story that I know you wrote but can’t find mention of it on here or rough trade. You may have moved it or taken it down and that’s totally ok I mean hey it belongs to you but if you could shoot me a line to remind me of its fate I would really appreciate it because as of now I’m starting to question my sanity. It was the time travel fix it fic that was Harry/Draco/Hermione where they went back in time and killed everyone that looked at them funny and it was fantastic. Anyway have fun with Rough Trade and writing awesome stuff that makes us flail.

  54. I have re-read all of your completed HP stories and sneak peeks. I just love your writing style and the richness of details you add to canon. You’re one of the few HP-HG authors that I read and it’s because of your story telling skills that sweep me into the love story between them.

You always create a rich tapestry for all of us to enjoy.

Always looking forward to more but I understanding that writing, especially excellent writing, takes its time.

  55. Rereading everything Harry Potter, on every platform that you write on that I know of. Because you’re amazing and I need my KeiraMarcos fanfiction fix.

  56. I would love to see more of Dimensional Shift in the future. I must admit I’m addicted to the story.

  57. any idea when you’ll be posting Darkly Loyal. I found it right before you took it down and I can’t wait for you to finish and repost it or just repost it period I only read the first couple chapters and got addicted

  58. The Blind Dragon

I came across Harry Potter and the Soul Mate Bond some time ago and fell in love with the characters you have brought to life more than JKR ever did. I also read a story over on RoughTrade called ‘The Unspeakable Plot’. I was wondering if you were ever planning on posting it here at some point. I was so impressed with the story that I actually sat down and cranked the speed of my screen reader up and read it completely in just under 4 hours and was left wanting more.

Hoping for a reply to let us know the status of that wonderful work of fiction.

  59. Thank you for let me join! ^_^

  60. Thank you so much for letting me join! 🙂

  61. Thank you for letting me join.
I just read your Harry Potter “Phoenix” excerpt and it’s superb. So much so that I’m very much looking forward to reading your other stories now.

  62. I just finished all of your HP fics and all I can say is WOW!!! Your strong Harry is now my absolute favorite! I don’t normally read slash, but I couldn’t get enough of how much of a badass you make him. This whole new HP world with the rituals, expounding on his parseltounge, acceptance of his family responsibilities, and just general badassery all the way around has made me really want to reread them all again!

  63. Keira the awesomeness of your writing never ceases to amaze me! I have read a ton of fan fic and honesty always come back here to re-read your literary magic. You took a series that I had originally thought was fantastic and just made it a million times better.

Thank you for sharing your writing

  64. Sorry to hear people have been shitty. I love all your work, it inspires me to think outside the box with my own. Hope you have a good break from HP and that people get over themselves. X

  65. Sorry to hear people have been being twatwaffles, I guess I’ll just learn to love Stargate in the meantime. Have a nice day, and remember don’t eat stinky waffles 🙂

  66. I really wish I could say I’m surprised to see the notice about the whining and moaning you’ve endured, but I’m not. I broke my nieces and nephews of whining in my presence before they were 4 years old; it’s terribly unfortunate that not everyone had a bitchy aunt to teach them the same lessons. (I am pleased to have passed on my attitude to the next generation at least. My niece got her very first detention the third day of kindergarten when she told her table partner, “If you can’t say something useful, then shut the fuck up.” *wipes away tear* That’s my girl!) Anyhow, many thanks for all the work you do share with us, and I hope you are enjoying whatever you’re working on now, whether you ever share it with the public or not.

  67. It completely pisses me off when intolerant idiots spew out their views and make an awesome and superior author such as yourself hate and doubt her writing.
Trust me, M’Lady, if I had any magical power at all they would all be under a curse to not communicate at all with the world at large. (Plus have an itching curse place somewhere on their body where they couldn’t scratch)
The fact that you chose to share your awesome stories with us is amazing and I for one am very grateful for the new ways you have broadened my horizons and for the way that the original characters from the books/tv/film grow and fill-out to be totally badass.
    You rock, M’Lady.
Please don’t let the morons get you down. You bring more joy to far more people than there are detractors. I hope you find joy in your stories again soon. Big hugs, Hxx

  68. Normally I just lurk, but you posted the notice and I was like: Shit, why can’t people just keep their shit to themselves. I see that you’re getting lots of support, I just wanted to offer my few cents. I’ll be eagerly awaiting whatever you write.

  69. I could have sworn there was a Harry/Hermione/Draco story on this site where they go back in time. I can’t seem to find it, though. Was I thinking of something else, or did some self-righteous idiot make you take it down? I can’t stand people that can’t keep their mouths shut. Nobody is making them read your work. IF they don’t like it, they can go somewhere else. I have a few suggestions, if they need them.

    • It’s not on the site and never was. It was on Rough Trade but it isn’t complete and due to the crap I’ve had in the HP fandom — I’ve taken a break from the fandom when it concerns large works. I doubt “Darkly Loyal” will get anywhere near ready to be posted on my site until 2018.

  70. Just saw your warning, sorry you have to deal with jerks! Just want you know I love your writing, and I’m willing to how ever long you need to read your stories.

  71. When I saw your comment about the problem some asshats were giving you, I had to drop my two cents in. It sucks that some jerks ruin a good thing for every one else. I can’t count the number of times I’ve read your work. I just finished “Soulmate” the other day. It’s one of my all-time favorites.

  72. Hi,

I just wanted to say thank you for ‘phoenix’ The story is amazing and as someone who was sexually assaulted and dealt with all the crap about leading him on, the bits where Harry talked about his erection being his responsibility were just wonderful to read. The message about consent is spot on for both men and women and I’m pretty sure I will at least make my sons read those bits when they are old enough to date.

You are an amazing writer, I’ve read pretty much everything you have ever written, and I’m in awe of of you skill with the written word and world building.

Thank you for gifting us with your writing.
