The Sentinel

The Awakening (Jim/Blair)
Detective Jim Ellison doesn’t want a Guide. What he wants is peace and quiet and maybe for his ex-wife to disappear. Dr. Blair Sandburg, a successful profiler with the FBI, has nearly given up on finding his Sentinel. Then the night came where one’s pain drew the other across the country – neither will ever be the same.

Ok so i have never watch the sentinel nor read any fanfiction about it. I was reading your sentinel in atlantis verse and really liked it, so decided to look at your sentinel fanfiction. Once i started reading, i got hooked! Stayed up till the early hours of the morning finishing the fic. It was a wonderful read to open up a new fandom. Ive started reading other sentinel fic, and although i know your is AU, im comparing them to yours and they dont even touch it! It was such a good read, and i definately hope you will continue the story verse. Would you be able to rec me any other good sentinel fic which are as good as yours?

After rereading this again, and waiting desperately for more Sentinels in Atlantis (sounds like a space opera :D ), I need to express how much glee I feel at the idea of Jim and Blair in Atlantis.

I’ve had a soft spot for this particular fandom for a very, very long time, fascinated by the possibilities offered by the Sentinel Universe.

Having just read all of the chapters posted, in one sitting, I’m very happy to say that I’ve never read any other fanfic, slash or otherwise, that did justice to the possibilities the way that yours has.

I’ve read Sentinels of Atlantis as well, and I’m not ashamed to say that I’d be happy to beg and/or bribe for more of your writing. ;)

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your series, especially the way you discuss the government/world knowledge of Sentinels and Guides.

My God! You are a wonderful writer! I enjoyed this adventure after a very stressful day. Thank you for the gift and I look forward to more, much more.

This was great take on a story that has been told numerous times and yet you managed to bring a new take to it. I am very glad to hear you are intending to write more around the pair and their world. This was the last of your fics I had to read and now I think i’m off to see if I can spot a miniJack in WMHB.

I love this because you created the universe with small differences that built on each other until a new world took shape. I love your Blair, who takes no crap from anyone, prepared himself to accept the sentinel he was most likely to bond with, yet not lose himself to. I really love the fact he was not wimpy!!!
If more happens in this verse I will write more supportive reviews. Of course, if you write any Sentinel I will be right here. ;)

I cannot say how wonderful this was … the connection was so intimate and naturally described that it took a on a life of its own. I had also never read any Sentinel fanfiction before, never even watched the tv series. I was looking at you e-books after I had read your star trek fanfiction and you other recommendations on slashword- which were also fantastic, particularly by the livejournal author with spockina in the name- so this was my first experience. You have probably ruined me for much other sentinel fanfiction, though I do want to watch the series now but I wonder if it will stand up to the comparison.

This is my second reply to any of you work – I know, I’m being a bad reader- but everything else just left me waiting for more, the star trek fanfiction. It actually made me really want to know what actual books you have published since I have learned that from you livejournal daily life blog entires, which I find hilarious (adding the youtube videos just makes it even better, a little whip cream on you hot chocolate). So if it doesn’t breach the privacy of you pen name I would love it if you could email me some of the title you have written. Are the also (hmm don’t know how to word this: homosexual, or maybe gay, or as demonstrated slash) fiction?

This story is easily one of the best Sentinel stories I ever read and I’ve read quite a few over the years. The vivid depiction of the characters, including the OC’s, was a joy to read. The case itself was a bit tough at times, but not more so then an episode of Criminal Minds.
A marvelous story that gave me hours of reading pleasure. I am looking forward to reading your other stories. Thank you for sharing!

    Hi Keira,

I have a cover picture of “The Catalyst” but can’t find the story that goes with the cover picture. Was this ever written, and if so, where can I find it? I absolutely love “Awakening”. I reread it more than any other TS fiction.

    Thank you.

The Catalyst is part of the Sentinels of Atlantis series. It’s an SGA fanfic and is located here: http://keiramarcos.com/fan-fiction-index/stargate-atlantis-fan-fiction/the-sentinels-of-atlantis-atlantissentinel/

Thank you, do Jim and/or Blair show up in any of the other stories? The only one on the list is The Tempest.

Love all the pictures with the spirit animals.

They make a brief appearance in The Catalyst as well.
