Birth of the Serpent King (Harry/Draco)
What if Lucius Malfoy had interfered and saved Harry Potter’s life during the third task? The Harry that returns to Hogwarts after the resurrection of Voldemort has been tempered by fire, the Potter Family legacy, and a relationship he couldn’t have ever expected. In the wake of his father’s redemption—Draco Malfoy finds everything he could have ever wanted in the man that was once his enemy.

OMG, I love you for this. It’s like one of the best fics ever (and I don’t even really like Harry/Draco pairings). Still, I’m glad you’ve gotten back to these lovely stories, it makes my frigid little heart warm to see that much more “naughtiness” has been brought back for our viewing pleasure.
I hope to see more soon!

OMG YES! You have become my favorite author ever! The only reason you weren’t before (though you were my second) was because you didn’t write Harry Potter fic and that is my favorite fandom. Now you have and I am beyond stoked! Awesome! This was a great read and I will probably re-read it again tomorrow…WOOT!

Started the Snoopy dance when I saw this beginning to post. I have been reading it ever since, with a little sleeping thrown in. Thank you for a lovely story that entertained for hours. I haven’t read much in this fandom and this by far outshines everything else I have read. Thank you.

You are one of two writers whre I don’t FIRST read the story – I just at once copied it on my ebook-reader gg. And I’m no fan of Harry/Draco.
But a new universe from you is too big a temptation, so now I will spend the night reading – who needs sleep anyway…
Thank you.

How marvelous! I have been on your email update list for ages, but didn’t get notification when this story went up. What a lovely surprise to find when I was going to re-read Tangled Destinies in anticipation of the (hopefully soon!) forthcoming update. I don’t usually ship Harry/Draco, but I very much enjoyed the story. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent.

Welcome back, hope you are well on the way to full health. I never really liked HP Fiction, only ever enjoyed one story by desolete03 called A Consorts Loyalty also the sequel (can never get the title right)., but this is really fabulous. I know you have a full fiction diary, cannot wait for you SGA sequels but I will wait with baited breath for a HP sequel. Once again welcome back.

What a wonderful story, I was so excited to see a new story and was a little bit unsure as it was HP, but your writing skill shone through and I really, really enjoyed it. Thank you so much for sharing;0) and I can’t wait for more.

Oh my goodness, I love your writing, and even though I’m not a big fan of HP fanfic, I thought I’d have a read seeing as I’ve read everything else and am eagerly awaiting updates. Wow. So good that I stayed up way later than I should to read it all, and so well written that when I then woke up the next day (this morning in fact) I reached for my wrist and a portkey to get me to Uni, my mind was still processing your great writing.
Thanks so much, and keep going on.

Oh my.
I’ve not commented on anything you’ve written before, I just kind of hang around lurker-style and hoping for updates! But I had to comment and tell you how awesome I think this was! I literally stayed up nearly all night to read it, and I’m SO glad I did (even with the sleep deprivation). I loved it, particularly the depth you put into creating a unique take on the magical world,
THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I have been re-reading your HP fic and I was curious as to why you wrote it. Please note that this is not complaint but a genuine query into the creation of the fic. because I don’t recall you mention even a pasting fancy for the books or movies!

I’ve read all of the books. In fact, I got in line at midnight to buy the last two I was so excited to see how it would end. That being said–I’ve never watched any of the movies.
I broke my foot in the fall and in a fit of boredom – I started reading fanfic in the HP fandom. Eventually, I read so much that I just decided to write something I guess as a thank you to the fandom for amusing me. Which is why I crammed it full of snark and sunshine and cliches. Because I was amused and a little stoned on pain meds.

And maybe someday there will be another whole fic following these two? Because it would be wonderful to see what happens to them and everyone else in the end.

Thank you for posting your fic “Birth of the Serpent King”. I’ve read a lot if H/D, and can easily place this in my top 10, if not top 5. You’ve brought a different side of these familiar faces to life, in a vivid and colourful portrayal. Your Harry has what I would have wished for canon-Harry, and your Draco is a perfect blend of his own superior snotty self tempered by painful reality in a way that canon-Draco never had a chance to show us.
Thank you – and I can only hope you write more HP fics in the future.

My favorite things about this fic, are that Harry is horrified by the lack of responsibility everyone in the Wizarding World demonstrates, and his (I think quite justifiable) diagnosis of it as resulting from insufficient consequences.
This actually reminded me a bit of a post I read recently about “things to be mad at JKR about,” which discussed some of the racism, sexism, and general badness and prejudice in some of her sub-plots (no Slytherins stayed, and girls who like make-up are bimbos- just sayin’), despite the author’s stated mission to convey the opposite.
The thing about HP is: I really think the fundamental moral message and center of the whole universe – our choices determine who we are, and love redeems us and is the most powerful force in our lives – is really dead-on. I like that.
But I feel like as often as not, despite preachin’ it right, JKR misses her own point. So I absolutely love fanfic, where some author picks up on that and fixes some part of it. And that is exactly what you did here. So, THANKS.
Also, I got through my adolescence by assuring myself that Harry was gay – Dumbledore’s queerness, while appreciated, was not an adequate consolation prize – so I like that fix-it also.
