Reading Time: 1 Minutes Greetings Starfighters! I’ve been hanging out in the background for a while now but I’ve gotten a few messages and I wanted to let you guys know that I’m doing as well as I can. In December, I started a new medication for pain management. It’s been difficult to find something that works for me since I’ve refused narcotics. I don’t want to go down that road and I’ve been iffy on any medication that has been labeled “habit-forming”. But I did finally relent and start taking a medication called Gabapentin on a relatively low dosage. The change has been subtle but I can tell already this is the right choice for me and my circumstances. While I’ve not posted anything in a while and my Rough Trade participation was haphazard at best, I did manage to write a little over 500k last year. I just didn’t finish a single damn thing. Frankly, for someone who is normally quite productive on the writing front–it’s been demoralizing to be stuck in this creative limbo where my ideas seem to fizzle out on me. Or I lose interest in the project about half way through which was always a thing for me but it never happened on every single thing I wrote. The thing is I probably have around 2million words written on unfinished projects over the last fifteen years in fandom alone. Ideas come and go, you know? OCSP Response Error

All of my sites have SSL certificates and in most browsers that’s fine. In Firefox, it is increasingly becoming a problem. I cannot fix this error for you. Firefox has an outdated security protocol and it cannot handle OCSP stapling. This has been a problem off and on since 2014. They clearly do not intend on fixing it.

2023 in Review

Reading Time: 2 Minutes Every few years, I notice a shift in the tone of my writing. When I was younger, it was off-putting as I was deeply invested in my “voice” as a writer and worked hard to protect it. Eventually, I came to realize that all writers are works in progress, and change is the goal. I never want to stop growing, adapting, and learning how to put together stories in ways that entertain me. As I write this, I’ve busted over 100k on my current Quantum Bang project when my actual goal was just 95k. I don’t know why I thought that was reasonable considering. Anyway, there was a time when I would be immensely disappointed in going so far off the rails on the word count goal despite the fact that the actual project is on point for the plot I’ve created. I just didn’t give myself enough room for world-building in my estimate. An ongoing weakness for me as of late. I’ve resolved not to super stress it. I can’t say it doesn’t bother me because I have an obsessive-compulsive disorder, and part of the management of my condition is recognizing what upsets me and acknowledging it. Dismissing it and pretending it doesn’t bother me isn’t helpful at all. I set a personal goal for myself this year to post a completed project on my site at least once a month, and I’m proud to say that I accomplished it. I’m very proud of my…
