While this is not a story in the world she created, I did use her BDSM/Dynamic theme with her permission. I want to thank her sincerely for her generosity and her contributions to this fandom and several others that I read. I highly recommend that you read EVERYTHING she’s ever written.
Like the world that Xanthe created– this series takes place in a world where BDSM relationships are the ‘norm’ and everyone is pretty much bisexual. There are a LOT of homosexual pairings in this series because it amuses me.
To my readers, I would caution you that this story is VERY different from the work I normally write. I do consider it a romance but it’s pretty hardcore. John is a sadist and he makes no bones about it. This may make some of you very uncomfortable. That being said I did recycle two of my OCs from my WMHB series (Declan Frost and Sean Taylor).
This is a FANTASY and should not be taken as a guide to use for a BDSM lifestyle. It’s also not at all realistic—it’s a fanfic set in the Stargate:Atlantis Fandom. Graphic descriptions of S/M appear in this work and it may squick. I would caution anyone who is interested in masochism or pain play that they educate themselves thoroughly about their body and their individual needs before considering any “play time”. In other words, don’t be silly and dangerous.
Additionally, I needed a ‘bad guy’ and I used Sam Carter. Since I normally write her as all sunshine and snark—it was interesting to write her as a real bitch. I’m not a Sam basher by nature—she was just convenient and I didn’t want to invent a new character for the part. Also, I never in my wildest dreams could have considered Jennifer Keller for the part Sam played in this story.

This is wonderful! I was so looking forward to you posting this. Evil!Carter is just fantastic. I always thought her Canon character was just a bit too perfect. I love to see her rolled out with warts and all like the rest of us. *grins*
The developing relationship between John and Rodney is just lovely. You have a light and loving touch with BDSM that both people in and out of the lifestyle will enjoy. I adore all of Xanthe’s work and have read them several times over, and your story is certainly developing in a way that makes me believe it will ‘rest on the same shelf’ with her stories.
I know it must be very difficult to write Rodney as a sub and still keep him true to character. I admire anyone who succeeds at this task.

Yes– they were posted in order of how they will eventually pair in some cases. Obviously if I’m put 2 Doms side by side on the page it just means that I didn’t pair them with anyone in the fic or their submissive doesn’t appear.. I considered not posting some of the pics but just decided to throw them all up there.

And the questions that come to mind based on just these pics are overwhelming me. LOL
For instance, is it a problem for the Sub to outrank the Dom? (Although, maybe Major in the Airforce and Lt. Commander in the Navy are comparable ranks, though it’s still a valid question.) Do the (other) Sheppard men have any problem with the fact that Matthew is a Sub, since they are all Doms? And, ooohhh! Daddy’s Sub is very pretty. Hee! And with that picture of Claire, I can more easily understand her having gorgeous and EXPENSIVE collars for each day of the week. She looks the type.

I am in love with this series.
I am also quite pleased with the pairings implied by the pictures, yes. (Well, the two that haven’t been explicitly laid out.)
I’d be more distressed by bitch!Sam if I didn’t have your other series available to go cuddle with. I can totally see how she’s the only person already around you could cast in that role. His puppy dog infatuation from the series makes it believable that he could let himself be in a situation like that. Even if I could somehow make the obscenely long stretch of imagination to see someone else as twisted as this Sam is, I couldn’t have made the stretch to believe it of Rodney for anyone else.
John’s family is as adorably awesome here as they are in the What Might Have Been, and I am so looking forward to seeing Sean and Declan here.

I’m normally one of the nitpickers, though I always try to bring up things I loved as well. (If I didn’t enjoy something, I wouldn’t waste my time giving concrit.) However, I just want to say that even *if* I actually notice any typos while I’m reading something you’ve written, I’m too full of glee at what’s happening to make much note of them. I’m sorry the naysayers got you done at one point – you have every right to make the request for only positive feedback. I’m not saying you need my validation, just offering it anyways because I’m (sadly) sure you hear people bitching about it.

Oh– you know I don’t mind if it drives you batty and you say so. What I mind is the abuse I get from other commenters who find it “batty”. Here is the thing– I’ve had betas in the past. One fic on my website had THREE betas and I still had complaints about typos and grammar. NOTHING is ever perfect and betas take time. This is a hobby and any time I devote to a beta takes away time from what I can devote to this hobby. Since it isn’t my career– I simply can’t give it the time using a beta would require. If I did– half the fic on my site wouldn’t even be posted.

can’t wait to see how Matthew and Lorne’s relationship starts, especially since Matthew claims to be less of a force of nature then Rodney or Claire. I really like Jonah as well. I am a bit sad that we won’t really get to see much of the family when they go to Atlantis, but the show is called Stargate Atlantis, so it is kinda expected. Thank you for all the effort you put in to make the series so realistic (with the pictures) and beautiful (the wonderful writing)

Love the new series. Just flat out love anything you do. I also agree with the Elizabeth choice. Torrie was nice, but I think Jessica would have played the role better.

I really wish you could work a character into the story that you use the actor Misha Collins as the templet for. Especially if you have him as the Dom that Matthew hooks up with. (If you haven’t already planned his match, of course). Supernatural has become my new passion and tension between Dean and Castiel is unreal

I’d just like to say that I think that James Woods is and awesome choice to play General Jordan (even thought I love James Woods bunches and Jordan is an ass…). I re-read the salon scene at the Sheppard’s with him in my mind, and he’s perfect. Still, I’m sure that John is up to handling him. I love all of the actors you’ve added as characters, and I can’t wait to see where you go with them.

When I first saw Ties that Bind’s summary I said no, in fact I was completely firm with my refusal. But since it was you who wrote it, and I enjoyed your stories, I decided to take glance, already hating it…the next thing I knew I was hooked and drooling. I loved the dynamics. I don’t think my body has ever before been so keyed up with sexual tension from reading fiction. This was heart-pounding, blood-pooling, searing-hot writing.
Being a RL lover of rattan canes and single-tail whips, I know what a true joy it is when you can implicitly trust your top, not just to wield the instrument skillfully but to keep you emotionally safe as well. Your John is exactly that type of Dom. Fantastic.
Also, it is rare indeed to read fiction where male characters interact freely and without shame, secure in their sexualities. If I may ask, how did you come to a place where you can write so freely about this type of interaction, especially considering it is almost *never* modeled by the people in today’s societies.

I’d love to be able to answer this question but I don’t know how. I’m an intensely honest person and I don’t tolerate deception and bullshit well at all. I think that tends to come out in the characters I create. I think honest and pure responses are SEXY.
Additionally– straight or gay– a man who isn’t secure in his sexualty is a HUGE turn off for me. When I put this story together I went with the idea that sexualty was a non-issue. That everyone was basically bisexual and there were a few exceptions– people who were monosexual OR asexual. Those people were not discriminated against because sexual attraction is biology. It’s accepted– as accepted as the dynamic system itself. My main focus of “angst” as it were had to be the standing of submissives in a world where their essential make-up created a situation where abuse could and had happened in the past.
I wanted these people to struggle with things like social AND legal ownership of subs. I wanted to demonstrate that no society is perfect and that of course there would be tops (like Jordan) who would corrupt the system to serve himself and his own needs in the most selfish way possible. He’s even mostly transparent on this point– he’s playing games of course but he isn’t pretending he isn’t. He’s smug, selfish, and destructive but it’s all out there for everyone to see.

Just WOW! I finished reading the 4th chapter last night and I’m on my way to start over on chapter 1 again, but I thought I’d better take the time to “feed the author” as it were.
I LOVE the worlds you create with your writing and this one is no exception! I’m in awe of your imagination and your take on Xanthe’s world. I love the whole teaching houses for Doms and Subs, and the rankings that they can achieve. I always like to see Rodney in distress, but trying to be all stoic about it, then having someone strong come to his rescue! The whole Sheppard family ROCKS, especially Matthew being all coitish!
Evil!Sam is brilliant and I can total buy into Rodney letting her treat him like crap until she steal his work.

I have a question, where was Sam’s father Jacob or her brother (even if he was absent in the show) when she was trained? – how much training did she get, I know you mentioned it was not much but was it informal or one session at a pleasure house?
I like Jacob,he always seemed honorable and personally I can’t see him condoning all the things she inflicted on Rodney, so is he dead or evil or absent and what will happen if he comes back and finds out what she did?! I like that idea!

In my head– Jacob is dead. I never mentioned it in the narrative but I did think about him in this world– he had advanced cancer but he was a Dom and a man used to controlling his life at that level– would he really agree to share his body with a parasite? Even if it let him live longer? I decided that he wouldn’t have. Others might think differently

Out of curiosity, how do you pick the actors/actresses you use for your original characters? Did you know immediately who you wanted for which role, or did you skim through images somewhere looking for someone who fit what you already had in mind?

I’m about to reveal my level of OCD. I’m a plotter and a planner. I plan out a story in-depth and sometimes my notes on a story are as long the story itself. LOL. As I plot– I create characters and I normally do a character profile at that time and that includes a general physical description and I got in a habit long time ago of picking out actors and actresses to help my visualize in my mind as I write. Sometimes I gather pictures and sometimes I don’t. It just depends. Sometimes I have to chose between one actor or another when I’m building but I make that decision in the plotting stage.

I haven’t actually written a long story yet, but my best friend abandoned a novel-length story that I was absolutely in love with and so one day I want to write it myself. I guess I’m somewhat like you though in the regard that the sparse notes I’ve already jotted down are probably going to be more in depth than the story itself by the time I’m done. I have a couple of more questions:
Can men and women only marry or can same sex pairings as well? And is it a one on one or is bigamy aloud? What is the legal and proprietary differences between marriage, collard, and pet, as well when one fills out a contract – before collaring or before marriage or both?
pleasure houses: could we get an outline of what each specialize in, or are they all mostly generic? Are there different marks for domme’s and subs – you mentioned that General Rampart was at lotus – but not that he had a mark – and that subs from lotus are geisha but not what the domme’s are called.

I have a feeling I’m going to have to write a series of articles about this universe. LOL.
Same sex couples can marry– but a Dom can have more than one legal spouse. They can collar as many submissives as they would like. Most who marry commit themselves to the sub they marry and have an exclusive relationship. When a Dom is exclusive he wears a committment ring– Jack O’Neill wears one and continued to wear his even while Jackson was Ascended.
A sub contract is a legal agreement that is one step behind a collar. A collar is social ownership. The contract is a way for sub to give themselves over to a Dom for a certain time frame with stipulations and rules. It’s a legal safety net which allows a Dom to see to the sub’s welfare in medical situations as if they were collared but doesn’t come with the committment of a collar.
de Sade and La Petite Mort (which both get the origin in France, btw) mark their Doms with tattooed arm bands. Red for de Sade and black for La Petite Mort. Lotus (like many houses in Singapore, China, etc) mark their Doms across the their shoulders. John has the mark of his Singapore house on his shoulders– and it goes up his neck into his hair.

Ok. fallin in love here. This fic is amazin and your characters are so fleshed out and in depth. The work of a true writter. That being said I hate that John can’t have any kids to pass on his genes not his fathers or brothers but his. Sad. Also when i was reading this particular fic i almost got the idea was sort of sentient. I mean the Ancients were highly evolved right? And very open minded. It seems that those with the ATA gene were as well and those that were successful in the gene therapy were either a step away from the evolutionary change that was required to use the technology and the therapy sped up that process.
I mean wouldn’t it be great if the gene was sentient and that explained why some could get it successfully and others can’t. But you could make it a twist that while some may have successfuly tranplanted the ATA gene due to their physical evolution after some time they lost that ability if they lack the moral evolution/tolerance needed not just with Earth but other races as well? Just a thought.
By the way I normally don’t like Weir but I can almost live with the Weir you have portrayed here. Its just that in cannon Weir was not prepared at all to handle what was needed to not only research the ancient tech but survive in pegasas at all. i mean her educational background is in politc and negotiations, soldiers like John with backgrounds in sciences such and theoretical math would have a better graps on things of that nature. I also had a problem with the first cannon expedition not taking food and supplies they could grow and live off of. I mean they were going to another galaxy for cripes sake and they knew they may not have the power to come back to their own galaxy so they would need a way to survive and I just don’t see the soldiers if no one else counting on the goodness of others, not after what they encountered off world close to earth.
Characters like the John in your fic would want to become self suffient, I mean come on what US soldier would rely on someone not their own for basic food essentiel just to survive when the whole point it to help make their way of life better. which would eliminate quite a few opsticals like trading for food or relying on the Athosians and they could concentrate on the wraith. And i just don’t think this is something Dr. Weir would think about she is too much of a polictical creature. But it is some your John would be concerned with so i hope you have him address this issue.
Hey know that i think about it this would be a perfect what for them to start a colony. I’m sure there are places on Atlantis for them to begin production of things like clothes and whatever is needed to maintain their high quality of life. This is the Ancients here. Just a few thoughts. I love your universe. Can’t wait for the next installment

I’ll be frank: while I like mild dom/sub stories, more hardcore S&M scares me. I have read the first of Xanthe’s stories, and while she is a gifted writer, her content was a bit too extreme for me. Meaning absolutely no offense to her (I WISH I had an ounce of her writing talent and nerve). When I read that this series was based off of Xanthe’s work, I went “Well, crap,” because I am absolutely addicted to everything else you have written. I took a deep breath, and clicked on the first story in this series, fully expecting to be squicked.
I can’t stop re-reading everything you have in this series. And I am not squicked.
I don’t know WHY I’m not squicked – after all, the subject matter is much the same as Xanthe’s – but I’m operating under the assumption that you are just that good. Thank you for helping overcome my fear of reading S&M.

Hi! I’ve read (and re-read) Xanthe’s stories & enjoy them. They’re literary crack. So I definitely had to read your take on the whole thing. Love it! More crack! I second the request for a description of the different houses and their specialties, why a person picks one house over the other, that sort of thing.
I don’t know if you answered this somewhere else, but why does John have to be a Marine? I don’t mind it, and it works in context of your story, but I just wonder why you moved him out of the Air Force in the first place.
Third, are we ever going to get anything more on Jack’s relationship with Daniel? I get that Daniel never stayed on Abydos, that Jack collared him immediately, but did Daniel or Jack ever study at a pleasure house? If so, which? I only ask because I’m enthralled with the world-building and I’m addicted to crack. Thank you for being such a good dealer. *g*

I have questions. I think it’s in xanthe’s fics that Radek is monosexual. Will you have anyone like that in this series? Or someone who is neither dom or sub? Maybe someone who’s non-sexual or asexual, celibate by choice, low sex drive or no sex drive? I don’t know how that would work with everybody else and there probably wouldn’t be a lot of people like that. But I was rereading and these thoughts occured to me. Odd that my brain would go in the opposite direction of sex. LOL

I mentioned that there were people who were “certified asexual” in one of the earlier parts referring to hotel staff that could give massages and stuff like that. In Xanthe’s world being monosexual was something of a big deal– in my world sexuality isn’t a big deal at all on any level as long as it’s legal and consensual. Some would say that John is practically monosexual in my series– he’ll admit later on to having only topped female submissives in training and never once after he was marked as a Dom.

I just now got around to looking at the pictures of the actors. I should have looked at them before because once I saw Gerald Butler as Gerard de Sade, I got aroused. He just looks like a Dom. I just finished reading all four chapters in Ties That Bind and I’m in love. Normally BDSM isn’t my thing but the way the world is set up, it pulled me in. It’s great that the subs are protected by the doms, and that you don’t put out false ideas – for instance, Matthew showing how hard he works to maintain his body with watching what he eats so he can splurge one day a week and the cardio workouts as well, and John and Rodney having safe sex until they were medically cleared. The interaction between the training houses is interesting, especially the greetings. I really enjoyed reading about John’s expanding family and can’t wait to see what happens when they leave for Atlantis. The Lorne-Matthew pairing is excellently set up and I’m on the edge of my seat waiting to see how it plays out as well as seeing Miko find her dom. To what lenghts will Gerard and his 12 go to for Rodney’s protection and what about revenge on Sam’s actions?

I completely love your John Sheppard in this.
In fact, I love all of your interpretations of John Sheppard. I thought it was just because he was more forceful, more demanding and just seemed stronger emotionally than canon John but then in this fic I found the fundamental thing that makes the biggest difference.
Somewhere in “Learning To Belong” John states to one of his Marines that: “Stupidity can be excused, Corporal, but the only reason for ignorance is laziness and sloth doesn’t even exist in John Sheppard Land.”
In comparison to canon where in The early part of Season 2 (Episode – “Prisoners” I think) John tells Ronon that he is just “basically lazy.”
This one little thing makes such a difference in his characterization and it makes him one that I love even more than in canon.

This was totally outstanding. Your characters, canon and original, are *incredible*. I’m so glad somebody recced this to a list I’m on. This is probably one of the best SGA stories I’ve ever read and *definitely* the hottest. However, now that I’m addicted, I’m likely to whine until I get more. As an aside, I’m visually impaired and your site is a little difficult for me — I have to copy and paste to a program so I can pump the fonts up huge. Do you possibly have something like a mailing list for update notifications?

I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’m sorry about the font thing. This is the only template I could really use at WordPress that worked well for my organization AND had a white background because a LOT of people had a problem when I used a dark background.

I can’t read them at work but I can take an Ipod to work so I can play my favorit fics.
I really do think that podcast of your fics would be popular and it would help us all pass on a new addictive habbit to others. Heck I’d learn to podcast and do it if I though I could give a great voice to your stories.
But really I think I need a new update soon. Even my kittens are addictied. (Okay only to your Quark story. They don’t try and read the others.)Soo Please update soon. Just a little FYI, and if you already know this, I misread, or somebody pointed it out already, feel free to ignore it: the Joint Chiefs are all 5-star Generals (Admiral). This is so they outrank everyone but the President, and there is no question about time-in-rank. This is also why none is ever replaced until they retire. Another bit of trivia – there is no five star rank in the Marine Corps. (The Commandant is a four star general.) And I believe it would take an act of Congress to create the five star rank in the Corps. Which isn’t to say that it works that way in your AU =)

Also like the Naval rank of commodore admiral five stars is normaly a war commision. They stopped giving out the commmodore out cause the Army complaned of all things. I think that it should be brought back. Some ot the proudest naval officers I knew growing up were Commodores.

Both my grandfathers served in WW2, so that’s probably where my error was. I looked it up in Wikipedia. General of the Army, General of the Air Force and Fleet Admiral of the Navy (the official titles listed in Wiki) are 5-stars. Commandant of the Marine Corps is a 4-star.

I love the detailed world building you’re doing with this, and spend way to long reading comments for little gems/insights into how this world works. I was hoping you might add to that by answering a question for me?
You’ve mentioned schools in North American, Europe, and Asia but I can’t remember seeing anything from the Mid-East or India. I know there have to be schools there but will we meet someone from there or learn about their schools? I ask because these are the cultures that gave rise to the Harem and the Kama Sutra. I can just imagine how a harem would have fit seamlessly in the not so distant past of this universe. Or how people might dream of studying in a house in India where the kama sutra has become a way of life.
Obviously, the world is a big place and there are going to be lots of things you can’t incorporate but I thought I’d ask if you had any thoughts on it. As always, thanks for all you dedication to bringing these stories to life for us!

When I first started building this world I decided that de Sade was the oldest “formal” pleasure house on the planet that still exists. There were of course ancient ones in the past– especially in Rome. That being said– the birth place of the harem (especially in this world) would be a center of hedonistic pleasure in the present day. There are pleasure houses all over the world– some spread out over many countries and some don’t.
La Petite Mort is the second oldest established house and it’s spread over much of Europe and the Americas. de Sade was founded in France but moved to Canada — I sort of picture a turf war with La Petite Mort being the reason de Sade moved to Canada– that in their position on submissives not being slaves.
Carson Beckett is a tantric sex master and was trained in a house in Europe that specializes in that training Doms for that kind of sexual experience. It makes him perfect for Miko in that respect and you’ll find that he even has a repuation among submissives both on Atlantis and at the SGC for his ability to pleasure for hours. I have his house name written down in my notes
for when it comes up.

Another question if you don’t mind – and feel free to plead the fifth if the answer would give away more than you’d like. To date, John has been very forth coming on how he has no reservations about punishing Rodney if he earns it. I was wondering if we were going to see Rodney acting out and John actually having to punish him at some point.
I love that their relationship is a guaranteed happy ever after but I can’t really imagine a world in which Rodney doesn’t get into some kind of trouble eventually. I’d really love to see how their partnership grows as Rodney finds out that John loves him enough to keep him in line, as it were.

I’ve been lurking and reading the comments.
This is all just in the happy little dreamland in my head. (I may have spent some special alone time thinking about this because they’re some of my favorite characters of yours.)
Figured I’d share in case parts of it make you go “Hey, good point…” or “Hey, that’s not right, they’re actually…”
Jimmy’s a switch who is used to playing both sides of the field and often – he’s hella attractive. He always knew that his options were more open than most, and so he actually trained at a pleasure house in order to master his dynamic, unlike the two other switches that have been featured so far (Carter, Ford). He’s a player, yes, but not an irresponsible one in terms of his safety and the safety of his partners. I don’t see him as having any serious pain kinks either way, but he’s definitely an exhibitionist. He always came across in the other series as not very discriminatory, but comfortable with it, and that’s how it translated across universes for me. I also kind of needed a positive and self aware switch to counterbalance Carter and Ford in my head, and he pretty effortlessly fit into that for me.
Ian’s a dom who struggled more with his family than his dynamic, as they were of the opinion that he didn’t need any formal training, but he didn’t agree with their “a firm hand and a sound thrashing every once in a while will keep a sub in line” approach, nor with their choice of a submissive for him. He’s either on the outs with them over the fact that he attended a pleasure house, or he’s been hiding the fact that he got actual training from them and will be on the outs with them when they find out. I figure he isn’t done training yet – he’s had like one session and is saving up money and leave time for another while he serves in the military, as a nod to his inexperience in the other series, but he’s trying. No pain kinks or only minor ones. I also see him as one of those laidback doms who like complete control in the bedroom but don’t need it quite as much in the rest of the relationship.
And their relationship’ll be a rocky one, but they’ll work it out. At some point they’ll go for a couple’s session, wherein they’ll pick up a few things that they needed help on, and affirm some of their own solutions for things. Ian’s pretty content to let Jimmy handle most things outside of the actual sex, which satisfies a lot of Jimmy’s toppier urges, and when he needs something a little more, they either pick up a pretty sub for the weekend or Ian lets Jimmy tie him up and work it out.

I thought Jimmy could be a switch who keeps orbiting around Ian. Although I had picked Ian as a sub without any pain kinks or training. His parents wanted to marry him off to this Domme who just wanted to live off his salary. They had however a very bad dynamic mesh (she was a bit of a sadist) and she actually broke his arm when they played (she also had no training). Since then he has kinda gone non dynamic and has not played with anyone. He is however drawn to Jimmy and because of Jimmys switchiness (is that even a word?) he doesn’t feel threatened and kinda eases into the play by firstly just having sex with what feels like another sub. After a while both Jimmy and Ian realise that for all Jimmys slutiness, he actually has not touched or been touched by anyone since he started with Ian.
I had to stop there, because I am hopelessly sappy and it never really sounds good after that

I love Chow Yun Fat, he’s cool, but I have to admit you confuse me with an image of such a young Dato Raja. If John started his training at 15, it ought to be like 20 years back, and Dato Raja must already have been a renowned master since Gerard trained for him only a couple of years before.
I’m trying to get their ages to add up, but I think in the end you’ll have to write that essay!

Chow Yun Fat is 55 in real life but in this series the character of Dato’ Raja is 60 but I never give his age in the story itself because I didn’t consider it important. John was trained by him from 15-19 and John is now 35 in this series. Dato’ Raja was 40 when John began his training. I think that Chow Yun Fat could play a “young” 60 in a movie. I used that younger picture of him because most of the time he smiles big and cheesy for the camera and that’s not exactly the image I wanted for Dato’ Raja and that was the only serious decent picture I could find of him that I thought I was sexy too.
Seri Raja has been a power house in the training world since he was marked himself. His family spreads out over most of Asia to China and Japan. His sister is the House Mistress of Lotus. By the time Gerard trained with him– Gerard had to petition for his private tutelage and it wasn’t an automatic yes.

Imspired casting. I always thought of Chow Yun Fat as the strict but good mentor – kind but demanding (ala Crouching Tiger”). Than I saw “Curse Of the Yellow Flower”, his character was all calm facade but psycotic as hell (not that Raja is psychotic). Anyway, that made it easier for me to see him as really intense, edgy.
See you put nasty Sam next to nasty Jordan, great choice – maybe they could get together, heavan knows they deserve each other. It would be good for the world. Then they could mistreat each other and leave the subs alone. Barb

I have a question about marking at the pleasure houses. so f someone s called back for a second or third session and they fail do they get a mark for the previous session(s) they took or do they not get anything? ’cause it seems like they should get some credit but Rodney’s sister knew he went for two sessions and didn’t think he was marked so could you clarify this point for me please! When Rodney wasn’t marked by de Sade after his second session, Jeannie meanly assumed he wasn’t worthy of being marked. A pleasure house can decline to mark a Dom or a submissive if they fail to meet their standards. But Gerard had his eye on Rodney even during his first session so no other Dom in the house offered to mark him after his first or second sessions. Which they could’ve done since the de Sade mark is a Star burst– points could’ve been added after each session. They chose out of respect for Gerard not to mark Rodney at all so he would be unmarked when he began his Courtesan sessions. Rodney wasn’t privy to this information but never doubted that he would eventually be marked in some fashion by de Sade.

It was so wonderfully detailed and you spent time with your secondary characters as much as your John/Rodney pairing (which is fantastic because I was seriously getting drawn in by your secondary pairings – and squeed when they came into the story). I have been stalking your site religiously for a while now and rarely leave comments. Still, I love everything you have written and wait with baited breath for the next installment. As I was waiting, I started to watch old episodes of Criminal Minds and had a very evil (and hot) thought. You said in the last update that Aaron Hotchner was a disciple of Gerard and I totally see where you got that idea. Are you possibly (please say yes) thinking of writing a dominant and submissive version of Criminal Minds? I had the most random thought last night and hope you’d feel up to with a question or two. The tattoos in this world are such an integral part of the society; I love them all out of proportion. But I wondered about the infrastructure for them. It seems that each person is marked by their house or, in some cases, by pleasure master personally. But tattoos, especially those that get a lot of sun, fade over time and it occurs to me that people would need their ink retouched on occasion both as a matter of pride and perhaps even as required by their house. In that case, do they return to their house for the touch up? I wonder if the ceremony attached to the original marking session is repeated or the remarking is otherwise celebrated by the person/pair as a life milestone.
And Matthew mentioned that a house can call for the removal of a tattoo, as well. Which, honestly, must be traumatic for the person. What sort of stigma must follow a person who’s had their mark removed? Even worse than being put on the no go list by a house, I’d imagine. If there are Lifetime movies about the perfect collaring, then there must be horror movies about people getting their collars forcibly removed or their tattoos marred/removed by the evil bad guy, right?
Or to take it one step further – there must be an underground market in tattooing – people who weren’t trained by a house but secretly get the tattoo any how. It’d be like counterfeit tattooing! Can you imagine the headlines when people discover that such and such high profile person actually *paid* for their tattoo rather than getting the training from the House? I would imagine that questioning the legitimacy of a tattoo must be the ultimate insult like questioning the validity of a sub’s submission to his/her top.
Or less nefariously, people who didn’t study at a house but get a tattoo similar to a house as a sign of the type of sub/top they are – perhaps getting a non-lotus flower tattoo, which the society recognizes as someone who identifies with Lotus House teachings but didn’t actually study there. I wonder if the houses have trademarked their tattoos; seriously they must have. With an office to verify a person’s training/standing in the House or to pursue those who have the mark illegally!
Or perhaps I’m just over thinking things and you have other ideas about the tattoo culture *grin*

So, i talk about TTB with a friend who is professor of psychology at the Nice Sophia Antipolis University i made him read it. He found that very smart, the house systems, the sort of caste between the houses, the education of the doms etc…
Plus he’s gay and love how you descrive the sexual relationships (more in WMHB). He isn’t into the bdsm world but know some private clubs and some friends of him play and when he descrive to them the playground of your fic they were amazed by you, the whole utilisation of toys is in it, miss just the piercing during a scene and the cold and fire play (i don’t know the term in english, it’s the use of ice and wax) but even for them that can be rough if the dom isn’t aware of the pain/pleasure leverage.
So, dear, you rock but you know it, isn’t it ?

No- Gerard is not a switch. He’s a sadomasochist. He likes to take it as much as he gives it but it doesn’t make him submissive. In fact, next to Raja, he’s probably the toppiest SOB in the series. Evan Lorne is a another example of someone who really likes to be fucked but is most definitely not in anyway submissive.
Dominance and being a DOM has little to do with actual sexual positions in my mind and everything to do with personalty type and control. Some people like to give up control and some like to take control and rule over sexual matters completely– that’s the core of a Dom/sub relationship.

It’s one of my favourite parts about your fic. Penetration does *not* equal dominance. Hell, one of the most dominant and ‘toppiest’ guys I ever knew was a ‘power bottom’. Wow. Just WOW. I came across this series by accident, and I love it. I ended up reading the 8 stories twice in a row.
I am usually not a fan of the BDSM genre, mostly because the fics I ended up reading 1) didn’t warn me; 2) were super bloody and violent; or 3)the Doms controlled all aspects of the Subs’ lives. I like how the individuals in your pairings have lives, and Rodney can be the snarky CSO instead of crawling around on his knees all the time after John being humiliated.
Are there going to be more? Like maybe 50 or so chapters?

I was reading through this fantastic series one more time and it occurred to me what my favorite things about your fics are. Its the fantastic relationships you develop between characters. Not just the romances but the friendships too. Absolutely wonderful. The other thing I love about it is the diverse pairings you have. Your constant is, of course, John and Rodney, but the others. In one fic Patrick Sheppard is distraught over his son having chose a partner of the same sex, but in another his lover is a male Geisha. Wonderful. You write so it is all so believable. With Lorne you have him with no partner, then with Keller, then with Matt, then in another with the Parrish. Love it. Your secondary pairings add spice to your stories. Your dialog is also so kickass that I sometimes just go through as story to read just that one line again. Please keep writing such fantastic stories.

I’ve never been as engaged and invested with such a multitude of OCs in addition to the MCs in a fanfic before. I absolutely adore Chase Harris for his strength, his caring for others, his sexual honesty, his engineering smarts and his boundless energy and optimism. I literally continue to re-read his scenes over and over. I’m really looking forward to knowing more about him and his training, his past as well as what happens to him. I imagine he may be honest everywhere except with the first place he needs to be: himself.
I also need to re-read the information on the background BDSM system. I’m a little confused about consorts and courtesans and the distinctions of the sub classes.

I might have it figured out. The hierarchy is based on where their training takes place for Doms and Subs alike. But training is expensive, so those who haven’t had training are at the bottom. Then there are the graduates of the lesser schools to the middling school and then the extra expensive schools at the top, where you have to be connected through family in order to get in.
Within the schools there is a hierarchy of the people who had one session at the bottom, with two sessions a privilege and three qualifies as becoming a Courtesan, Consort or Geisha (depending on the house) for the subs, and a Master for the doms?
I don’t think three sessions from three different houses would equal the same title.
At least that’s what I think the breakdown is…

why did John and David train at Lotus and not it’s sister house heian? I would think that that house would have fitted them far better than Lotus – despite the fact that was where Jonas trained…
I also have a question about Patrick and Lotus, you mentioned he was a master at Lotus was that before after or during Jonas’s training?

All of Patrick’s sons were invited into Lotus– because of Jonah’s legacy. Patrick trained at Lleu House in Europe and went to Lotus because he wanted to win Jonah. He’s a wealthy man and he trained with in a hedonistic pleasure house. It wouldn’t be out of the way to say that he practically bought his way into Lotus through donations to both Lleu and Lotus as a kind of acceptable bribe. The fact is that very very few non-Japanese people are invited into Lotus or Heian and that’s why Matthew is rare. A non-Japanese Geisha is almost unheard of because of it. In fact, Matt was the second to be marked in such a fashion. David and John both attended Lotus to explore the softer side of they dynamics. They are both sadists–yes but that’s not all they are.

Hey. are we allowed to post ideas in a blatant attempt to maybe inspire the Goddess that is the Author? If not, just ignore the rest of this post, I got ambushed by an idea while re-reading this truly awesome story…( All of your stuff totally kicks ass, IMHO)
Anyway, some future point maybe- I can see Atlantis setting up their own Pleasure House to train both their own personel and Pegasus natives, either taught by people in Atlantis with top-level training themselves part-time or by other people brought in… The idea basicly sprung up when a motto for something like that popped into my head- “Strength, Intelligence, Beauty, and Passion”, referring to the strength of the soldiers, the intelligence of the scientists, and the beauty and passion of both, but also as a sort of philosohpical- Weather Dominant or Submissive, Beauty and passion are made stronger when combined with strength and intelligence.
I can see, longer-term, it becoming a Pleasure House that prefers to train people that exhibit at least some of those four basic tennants- Career soldiers of all branches, people with PHDs, martial arts experts, people talented with fine arts, excetera, and training them not only to hone their pleasure skills but also skills based on the four main tenants, at least for Masters and Courtesans (or whatever the Courtesans may be called) such as skill with musical intstruments, some form of martial arts, dance, philosphy, whatever.
It’s just this idea that crawled in my head and WOULD NOT LEAVE.

I just found you a few months ago and I love all of the stories, but I would have to put Ties That Bind at the top of my list. I have gone through it more then once, but it does not say if Jack and Daniel ever attended a pleasure house. See I mention it because most of the characters you either state that they don’t have formal training or you give the place they trained. In the grand scheme of things it’s not a big deal (since this is not a SG1 fan fiction) but still I was hoping. Oh yeah you talk about where Weir was trained but not if Radek was. I ask about the training because it helps to place these people in your universe. Whether or not a person was trained gives us a great start in figuring out how the characters you know from Stargate, can fit into this awesome world.

Uhmm. If you are really considering it would you think about also showing him with Rodney? He had to have been pretty special for Rodney to say he had regretted not taking Sumner’s collar. The guy is the first cousin of Gerard, he fucks Rodney too and have Radek , Chase, and two powerful doms Sydney Jamison, Mason Blake and Andre Morgan, Gerard’s companion, wow i’m impressed, he needs a lot of stamina and must be a stallion to handle two subs like Rodney and two hard Dom like Sydney and Mason.

I have never commented before, but I am super in love with all your work! I have a question that has been tickling the back of my mind sense you listed the different pleasure houses. What marking does a submissive from Lleu get and do they have a “super star” submissive (Geisha, Courtesan, etc.)?

I’ve never really thought about the submissive marks for Lleu.
Carson and Patrick Sheppard both have a dark blue war bracelet on their bicep as Doms of that house.
I think perhaps a celtic knot design of some kind for subs.

I’m not terribly familiar with SGA, and although I have watched one season, I am essentially reading this as original writing. And it’s amazing.
Your world building is thoroughly intoxicating and I am really delighted by how deep it goes and how big the world you’re creating seems to be. I’m amazed by the detail, vividness and sheer number clear pictures it left in my head and the way that the emotions between the characters are still ringing around in there.
I love the deft little details that make it clear that this is stuff you know. I love the way that the men are still very much men, even ones who are in vague danger of feminisation.
Mostly, the friend who I saw recommending this basically described it as hitting all her buttons ever, and I heartily agree. It’s one of those things which is EXACTLY what I want to read and is just an utter delight to experience.
So yes, thank you very much. It’s made me really happy.

I just had to spend a forced 48hours in bed (vertigo-type issues) and so I naturally re-read TTB. Don’t hate me but I have a couple (ok4) queries – don’t blame me blame the enforced bed rest!
1. in the story you say Dato’ Raja was raised in his father’s household and didn’t get to know his mother but in the Q&A you say he was groomed by his grandfather and took over KP house when he was 19, and that his mother was a red-petal geisha. Isn’t that a little young to take over a house? Would his mother be side-lined if she was a red-petal geisha? Maybe she was only contracted for a specific length of time?
2. Patrick trained at Lleu (phew getting hot at the thought!) but you said it was in Ireland and as exclusive as de Sade so did he go to Ireland and how did he afford it as his money came from his wife – actually I might have solved that one by thinking his father started Sheppard Industries, hmmm?
3. Tattoo marks for Lotus – it’s been said they mark Doms with a sword and their master’s name but also that they use a mark across the Dom’s shoulders. Would they be one and the same, or has it evolved from originally being a sword to now being across the shoulders?
4. At one point it’s said that the McKay sibblings went to de Sade as a legacy from their mother but whilst trapped in the jumper Rodney says the inheritance was from his grandfather and father (de Sade Dom and Courtesan respectively). So were both of Rodney’s parents de Sade?
OK you can stop groaning now – I promise not to do the same when I re-read Sentinels LOL.
BTW my youngest bro came to look after me whilst I was laid up, he picked up WMHB and after getting over the initial shock of my reading material he settled down and thoroughly enjoyed it. He said to tell you that from a homosexual guy’s point of view it was spot on and a really good read. He’s still a little wide-eyed that I read stuff like this (I think he may have thought I read Mills & Boon romances!) but he now wants to read all your stuff as does his husband. I do love spreading the joy around.

1. His mother was a red petal Geisha and she did leave him in his father’s care when she moved on to a new Dom. He was groomed by his grandfather to take over the house starting when he was very young and the house is small/exclusive compared to others on Earth. It’s a young age, yeah, BUT such a position in that house is one of favor and of course, nepotism. If John were remotely interested in it– Syed would have groomed him for the job and given him the house leadership shortly after he was marked.
2. Patrick’s parents would have paid for his first pleasure house
3. I see the sword tattoo for Lotus Doms spreading out over the shoulders and down the middle of the back. I’ll write a scene showing Patrick’s at a later date. Neither John nor David were marked by Lotus in this respect.
4. Both of Rodney’s parents were trained at de Sade. I probably did flub the inheritance thing in the narrative early on but in my series bible the inheritance came from their grandfather. I checked it when I was writing In the Flames.

Hi Honey,
I’ve one last question (I’m sorry to make you groan!).
I assumed that although La Petite Mort has branches all over the world their HQ and most prestigious campus would be their Paris one as Ethan said he was honoured to train in Paris with Louis Bessette before he retired and Phillippe Dubois took over. But John tells Ford he’s arranged for him to train with Phillippe in San Francisco.
So is the main campus wherever the Head of House lives?
Or maybe (*she says hopefully*) Phillippe was in the States visiting his sister and we’ll get to meet him soon.

The head of any house with multiple branches can train at any branch he choose to at any given time. I put Phillipe in San Francisco because we’ll meet up with him in a later story in the series so I didn’t want him all the way in Paris. Paris remains the headquarters of La Petite Mort but Phillipe can pretty go where he wants.

i was wondering are you going to use the episode where rodney mentally regress’s in this universe? i know it’s a far off thing if you are, but i’m really interested in how you’d have john deal with that. not to mention the fact that keller in that episode in canon was, i thought really out of order for basically saying she preferred rodney nice but dumb. i could really see john going batshit over it, especially as in canon there was so much ust it was practically a visible auror on john and rodney.

No. I thought about it and it occurred to me that there is no way that kind of physical change in his Guide would go unnoticed. John would sense the parasite or the changes the parasite started to make immediately and then Rodney would have been treated before it was too late. So it would end up being like a problem i could sum up in a thousand words. The idea becomes “small” in this ‘verse because of what they are.

I have got some questions regarding the characterization. I´m rereading the story and stumbled over the length of the sessions in the first chapter.

Now the questions:
1. Why does it take a Geisha 4-5 years, but a Courtesan only 3 sessions a 3 months (John said somewehere that one session takes 3 monts in the first chapter). Because a Geisha is taught tea ceremony, danse, music etc and a courtesan “only” sex?
2. Where is the de Sade Institute Rodne3y was in? I´d think in France somewhere in a Castle that belonges to the de Sade-family (at least for the 3rd session)
Although they could have problems with the number of pupils.
3. How many pleasure houses are there? Lleu, La Petite Mort, de Sade, Kesakitan Pembawa and Lotus Hous. Any others especially in Europe/Russia? I bet there must be many small institutes with supervisors, i Think it´´s one hell to organize and to prevent abuse by the masters. In the learning phase they have very much power. If there are subsidiaries to the main institute, Rodney would have gone to a Canadian. How did he cath Gerard´s attention? Even if not, there must be many thousands of students.
4. What are the differences between the houses? First I thought it was becauseof Dom/Sub, but both train in both houses. So their kink? de Sade for SM, Lotus House for not only pleasure but also dance etc., Kesakitan for spanking, flogging, etc. Both Zelenka and Carson were in Lleu, what do they specialize in, Carson said something about Bondage…?

1. Matthew received his education at Lotus– that included high school stuff. It’s like a boarding school in some respects. Theory and the practiced. Music theory, dance, ceremonial sword fighting, various ceremonies– think of it like a very exclusive finishing school. It wasn’t just about the sex.
2. Rodney trained in Quebec. de Sade does not have an official branch in France but Gerard may have a house or two there.

Just wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying your work. I got sucked in because a friend, like you, was inspired by Xanthe’s ‘verse and started a BDSM ‘verse Torchwood story (and I am a ridiculously intense Torchwood fangirl). I followed her links to Xanthe’s work and then to yours. I have just bought the first season of Atlantis because I have enjoyed both versions so much.
Having said that, BDSM is completely not my thing in my sexual imaginings (I am a long-divorced grandmother–all my sex is imaginary–which is fine with me at my age), so for me my enjoyment isn’t really about the smut. The romance does get me. I am a fan of love, even though in these stories that love takes a form that would not work for me. But having spent a lot of time reading science fiction I have no trouble suspending belief and going where you and Xanthe (and now hab318princess) are taking this.
What gets me about both your and Xanthe’s versions of this verse is that it is just damned good anthropological science fiction of a caliber I have seldom seen even in work that authors got paid for. Your worlds are different, yet each of you write so damned well. You have created societies that are 3 dimensional and plausible, given the underlying difference between people in RL and these people.
Sorry for being so longwinded. I really do admire your work. Thank you so much for sharing it with us all.
ps I get the impression you get occasional nasty remarks. You need to remember Bette Midler’s motto: Fuck ‘em it they can’t take a joke.

Just finished a re-read of the series. Have to say that this is my favourite series that you have written. I think in large parts it’s due to the pairings in this story. I adore Matthew & Evan probably far more than any of the other pairings. I love the little snippets we’ve had of Johna & Patrick, Gerard & Andre as well as Ethan & Chase.
I’m looking forward to seeing more of Ethan & Chase actually, I’m a big first time fan and love to see the beginnings of relationships. I’m also interested to see who is going to peak Thomas Grants interest and to see his character in more depth, damn you and your teasing in mentioning him briefly at the end of the last chapter!
I think what I love most about this series is the varied types of relationships the different couples (and sometimes multiple pairings) have ranging from Rodney & John who are hard core S/M to something much softer like Matthew & Evans relationship which is more focused on the D/S side. Also addressing interesting people like Gerard who is a sadomasochist rather than being just one or the other.
You’ve created a great world with this series

Yesterday, I finished re-reading WMHB for the…um…umpteenth time. For the record, I’m pretty sure that it’s my favorite piece of fanfic ever. In any fandom. By any author. Period. Yeah.
Anyway…the only logical thing to do when I finished was to start re-reading TTB.

The penny just dropped! Or, as a friend says in reference to light bulb moments, “the room just got a whole lot brighter” where I am.
I’ve been withholding comment for quite some time on the fact that readers can proceed from story to story in all of your series by means of a link at the end of each except for this one, grumblebitchbitchbitch and in light of my Blinding Flash of the Obvious (not to mention that keeping pointless bitching to oneself is explicitly stated as a rule on this site) I am so glad I did, because it’s the warnings thing, isn’t it? You’ve got wackjobs out there reading hundreds of thousands of words of absolutely non-stealth BDSM and then reaming you out in an inflammatory manner, even when they’ve had to jump back to the warnings page before proceeding to every single dose of spine-tinglingly hot whipitude.
Wow. People are weird. And dumb. I’m glad I kept my mouth shut until I’d moved at least part-way out of the second category, because I’d still love to get the heads up on the unwarned bottom!Jack story so I can move it to the top of my reading list, but that’s dumb because it defeats the point of the unwarned portion, so I’ll just keep reading everything until I find it.
Side note: if you have a space age cast with buckles and stuff, (a) how would John draw an airplane on it in fiction and (b) does that result in tasty thought experiments with respect to TTB in real life?

My gut tells me Matt will have nothing to worry about. That Grant’s arrival will solidify Rodney and John’s relationship….and his coming to Atlantis is Gerald’s way of making sure Rodney is mentally okay, and John is as well. … I found this list yesterday, and I spent half the night and all of today reading every part on it- and all I could think of was: WOW!!!
I’ve read some of the other BDSM-Universe fics that are around, but the sheer detail and complexity of the training houses and all the original characters that were adding was amazing- they really bought it to life. Also the sheer size of this series is fantastically wonderful, and although it took me forever and a day to read all of it, I have no doubt that I will re-read it many times in the not-so-distant future. I love how certain idiots got their cumeuppance, although I wish Carter had gotten a much more serious and lasting punishment- like Gerald de Sade actually getting his hands *whip* on her would have been bril. That said, I love this series! and will be recommending it to everyone who is interested!!!

There are not enough words of praise to be heaped upon this series. Every character is so realized they could walk off the page. The emotional growth and changes each one experiences is captivating. I could not stop reading through the night. Every moment of interaction made me greedy for more. Every scene was just beautiful, the level of trust given and accepted makes one jealous. The courage to step beyond inhibition and accept all that you are. I hope there will be more. This is a keeper.

Have you ever read Kushiel’s Dart by Jacqueline Carey? It’s a fantasy BDSM novel which employs training in pleasure houses and getting tattooed, much like in your story. I’m not trying to instigate ANYTHING to do with you copying off of her story or vice versa… I just thought that if you hadn’t read it, you might be interested because of the similarities.

2 installments in, and I wanted to comment on a few details. First of all, please allow me to applaud your casting choices. I looked over the photos and sort of … whimprered? Hell YEAH do I want to read porn with these pretty, pretty people. The Sheppard family in particular seems blessed with incredible good looks.
I liked the green, blue, and red lights for making sure security and medical don’t come running in to interrupt a scene. I appreciated John making sure Chase had a Dom who could look after him and take him down after that ‘punishment’. And I love how John seems to view his good looks, exceptional sexual training, rank, and family wealth and power as weapons available in his arsenal, to be used as needed.
Also, I really like how you’ve written the complexity of people’s dynamics. Yes, a masochist who’s a top and a switch like Aiden could have some real trouble in this society, and I rarely see anything like that addressed in kink fic, as if sexuality was nothing more than a single digital button, D vs. S.
If anything, I’m surprised by how NOT fucked up Rodney is after such a horrible experience with Carter. And I can’t wait to see how this ‘Ownership Bill’ pans out.

I am currently rereading the series in preparation for the next part and a sentence snagged my attention.
In What You Give Rodney says in regard to Carter’s collar: “Gerard would’ve cut it off for me if I’d called him. Maybe I should’ve.” John agrees. It made me wonder how everything would have turned out if he had.
I could imagine Gerard and his Disciples interferring, Carter exiled off-world, Rodney staying at the Mountain but watched closely, any military dom prohibited from pursuing him. Then John comes back from Atlantis. Of course, his dynamic background would have to be different (i.e. not trained by Dato’ Raja etc.) to make this scenario interesting, but it would be worth it, I think. Gerard and John squaring off over Rodney – mmmhhhhmmm. Wonder what it would take for Gerard to give his blessing under such circumstances?
That train of thought kept me actually awake in bed for a couple of hours and caused some very nice sleep time afterwards.

Just got done reading this story yet again and no matter how many times I read this story (lost count) it never gets old it still feels like the first time i read the story love all the characters can’t wait to see what happens between Ethan and Chase and about the new Dom coming to Atlantis Thomas Grant and from the little snippet with Ronon and Tyre (thanks again for the snippets loved all of them) I just can’t get enough. No, only a Dominant can carry the title of “Master”. He would have been trained as a submissive and that would be in it. He isn’t the current house master– some one who isn’t a de Sade is. The title of House Master became his because he earned it through training and yes, of course, he received all the training he would need to earn it because he was a de Sade.

I left a more general feedback on your LJ but I wanted to leave one for a specific series as well. TTB was the first series I read on your site and I am still in as in love with it as I was the day (night) I stayed up until eight AM finishing it. The world-building and the detail you put into this is fabulous. The plot and story lines are always interesting and keep me wanting more and the original characters facinate me in a way that very few OC’s have ever done. I love the hot sex scenes you write in this series- I mean, seriously, you’re pretty much a “goddess” in that respect, but it’s the story itself and the richness of the writing that makes me re-read this alot. I love the big, epic feel of it and of the themes and love that runs through it all.

Omg! Omg! Omg! I started reading this back when there were only a few chapters posted. I got very distracted with life and kind o forgot about it. I’ve found it again and I have to say…
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me you’re still writing this!!!!!!!!!! I want more Ronon and tyre! I want more Evan and Matt!!! I want more John and Rodney!!! You have to actually get Carson and Milo together!!!

Also… Are there more of these posted somewhere else? Chapter 11 is the last posted and Ronon and tyre had just gotten introduced. But in the bios on the character pictures, you describe things that haven’t happened yet in the story. De Sade hadn’t released his second sub yet, but he has in his bio. So I’m confused.
Either way… Please write more!!

Actually de Sade released his second sub shortly after he returned from Singapore but that was done off screen and wasn’t represented or spoke of by the other characters. Since he isn’t a main character, I put it in his profile for my personal reference.
I rarely if ever post my fiction anywhere besides my own site.

have you thought about Michelle Yeoh for Mistress Kia? at first i thought Gong Li, but when i looked at some photos of her, i didn’t see “Domme” as Mistress Kia would have to be. Michelle Yeoh amply fufills that requirement

If you take offers of plot fodder- Xander Harris as a sub in the military. An abused sub (because he really hasn’t been in a relationship which could be classed as non abusive) who gets sent to Atlantis because his Training Master knows of either Rodney or John and thinks they could look out for him.
Either that or Xander is related to John through his mother
