Newsletter Spring 2018

Rough Trade has gone tremendously well this month! With 1.3 million views and over 4k comments, the authors are churning out a lot of great fiction so I hope you’ve had a chance to get over there and check it out! Our word count for the month so far is 1,336,178 words. You are WELCOME Harry Potter fandom!

I’m working on cleaning up Revenant so it can be moved to my main site and I expect to finish Small Magic before July so hopefully, that’ll go into beta before we head into the next challenge which will be a Little Black Dress event.

New Works

I finished my rough draft of What Lovers Do and you can read it on RT through the end of June. I’ll put up the completed beta on my personal site probably before then but it won’t change much from the rough draft.

New Art

I received some lovely new art from Tiffany. Thank you! If you click on the first image you can browse them in a gallery at a bigger size.

In my spare time, I write fanfiction and lead a cult of cock worshippers on the Internet. It's not the usual kind of hobby for a 40ish "domestic engineer" but we live in a modern world and I like fucking with people's expectations.

  1. Thank you to you and all the authors that posted to RT this year. There were some great stories being told and I’ve loved seeing how they all come together.

The thought that you might finish writing Small Magics soonish, though, just totally made my night. I’ve reread the EAD bits you posted like 5 times now, and it’s honestly what made me finally breakdown and watch the trilogy. I’ve owned it for like 2 years but kept putting it off because I was sure it was gonna make me cry. It did lol

  2. Thanks to all the writers for participating in my favorite fandom for this RT. I apologize to you and all for lack of comments, but I threw my back out two weeks ago, and so reading was as good as it got for me. I hope to go back and thank the authors I read. Looking forward to Small Magic, the excerpt you posted for EAD was so cool!

I even broke my rule and read WLD. It was the first BDSM of yours I ever read. Thanks for doing a good job with that, I know it’s a genre that many get wrong. Minxie said I could trust you with that a long time ago. I’m just chicken when it comes to it.

    • I don’t write non-con, humiliation, abuse, rape fantasies, kinks involving human waste of any sort, mutilation, mommy/daddy fantasies, or anything else that would result in any sort of second-hand embarrassment.

If there is something specific that might bother you, feel free to use my comment form to ask me about it. 😉

  3. Wow! Congrats on this latest Rough Trade, that is huge. There have been some wonderful fics on there, I guess your theme really inspired people for this round of the challenges. Lucky for us readers!
It’s also exciting to hear what else you’re working on, What Lovers Do is gorgeous in draft and I look forward to reading it on the site over and over, like I do all your fics! In fact it sent me right back here to re-read some of the other HP fic you have posted. Thank you for all of it.
Good luck with your plans and I hope you have a happy Spring!

  4. I loved your story, and the great relationship you created between Harry and Hermione, and will be rereading it with pleasure.

I already said this in my comment on Rough Trade, but my birthday is in April, and the amazing stories are like a month’s worth of gifts. The sheer variety of stories, and more importantly the quality of the storytelling, always blows my mind. They may be first drafts, and yes, there are typos, and missing words, and contradictions etc., but those can be fixed, and the wonderful group of writers you’ve attracted to the site are better, even at this stage of the process, than a lot of others who post ‘finished/ edited/ betaed’ work on other sites. So thank you for providing such a wonderful place for both writers and readers.

And I am looking forward to the ‘Little Black Dress’ challenge. It’s a great theme, and based on previous experience, will be a fantastic read.

  5. Firstly: Congratulations on finishing Rough Trade!

Secondly: I had totally forgotten that Revenant existed, so of course I had to go and read it again, since I love it. I love the whole concept you used there (revenants being eternal spirits that anchor in living people), and I’ve been meaning to ask: was it your original creation, or has it been used before somewhere in original fiction or fanfic? I’d love to read more fiction with that concept, if it exists somewhere (I suspect not, but one can always hope).

  6. RT has been a treasure trove of such wonderful reading in April. Work is hellish in April for me – so it was my escape every evening 🙂 I need to go and thank all the authors for keeping me sane!
