2022, So Far

Reading Time: 2 Minutes

I’m trucking along just fine–though I have, perhaps, over challenged myself. On that front:

  • I finished my QB and I’m getting ready to move into the beta phase.
  • I’ve finished my offering for the Big Moxie Q1 and I’m at the 75% mark on the first draft for Q2. I’m pleased with both.

In other writing news, I’ve finished the first season of The Vanguard so the next 5-episode arc will involve a small time skip so and will start with John’s first day in the SGC. I’ve zero drafted the series all the way to the Atlantis expedition so we’ve got a long road on that front. I hope you guys don’t mind taking that trip with me!

I posted three excerpts for Evil Author Day, and yes, they’re all for the 9-1-1 fandom. I’m enamored with the new pairing and I’m okay with that. I realize it’s not the fandom many of you’d like me to focus on but I’m always going to write where I’m the most inspired any given moment. I’m really happy with my writing lately and there’s something huge to said about that.

I’ve been working on uploading podcasts the last few days so expect to see that for a while as I work through last year’s final few podcasts and we’ll get started on the ones that we’ve recorded this year. We have a new recording mechanism so the sound quality might change for you. No clue really. I just do it for fun so never expect anything super professional out of it.

Don’t forget to check out the other authors participating in EAD: Jilly keeps a big list!

The Podcast

The podcast is now fully syndicated as far as I can tell. If I’m not hitting a major service/app you prefer feel free to comment here and let me know. I’ll certainly try to get my RSS feed fed into it. You can use the podcast player on my site as well without impacting my bandwidth at all so no worries on that front.

In my spare time, I write fanfiction and lead a cult of cock worshippers on the Internet. It's not the usual kind of hobby for a 40ish "domestic engineer" but we live in a modern world and I like fucking with people's expectations.

  1. Thank you for sharing EAD stories. I’m always thrilled to read anything you share with us, but I am absolutely down a Buddie rabbit hole right now so I’m especially excited for these!

  2. I’m just excited to read anything new that you post. I’ve never seen 9-1-1 but I love Eddie/Buck and that’s due to your writing.

  3. Thank you for sharing your work and talent with us. I loved all of the EAD postings. I have yet to find something that you have written that is not amazing. I’m definitely going to re-read your EAD postings.

  4. While your HP fanfic was what first brought me to you, your writing is of such quality that I’ve read nearly every single fandom work you’ve written for and not been disappointed. You keep on writing and I’ll keep reading! Your inspiration clearly knows what it’s about. 😀

  5. You do your best work where you’re inspired. I’m looking forward to it!

  6. I have a question if that’s okay. Will you be posting the stories you’ve written for Evil Author Day to this website at some point? Or will the Evil Author Day website be the only place to find them. You’re a fantastic writer, thank you for all your hard work!

  7. I get super excited for everything you write so thank you for sharing!

  8. I watch 9-1-1 because of you and Jilly James, and I’m Buck/Eddie all the way because of your amazing writing. Every fandom you’ve written for has drawn me in!

I’m so sorry, but what is Big Moxie Q1 and Q2? I’ve searched your site but I must have missed something, and I would so hate to miss anything you’ve written…

Thank you so much for sharing your EAD works! xxx

  9. I’m so sorry ignore that! I FOUND BIG MOXIE!! Now I’ve got something else to look forward to next month, thank you! xxx

  10. I am loving the Vanguard series, thank you!

  11. I for one would like to say that I am overjoyed you find so much pleasure in writing in the 911 fandom… I can’t seem to get enough of Buck/Eddie And especially the way you write them. I also enjoy you often sharing The music I am assuming is partially inspirational in your process. It is introduced me to many new songs and artists. Happy EAD to all.

  12. I’m seriously loving The Vanguard series, it’s such a fresh take with how changing little things makes the timeline change under their feet.

Re: 9-1-1 I’m so happy for you that you’ve found a new fandom love. That’s the best feeling.

  13. Keira, not only are we so ready to take this trip with you, I’ve got road trip snacks and some spare ZPMs ready to go.

    • Also also you and Jilly have caused me to be enamored with this ship/show also and I haven’t even seen the source material. The way you write what inspires you both gives me a great example to aspire to as a writer and, as a reader, means every new work from you is full of your passion and interest, which is just so refreshing each and every time. I love to see where you go.

  14. Can I ask what “zero drafted” means? I’ve never heard that term before.

    • A traditional zero draft is the bare bones of a story written in advance of the work for plot purposes. It’s, in some ways, a very advanced synopsis.

My zero draft is half way between the above and an outline. I list all of my plot events, details consequences/ripples, and GMC(Goals, Motivations and Conflict) in a document before writing. This is my plot process. My zero draft for Unleash Your Demons was 7,000 words for instance.

  15. I haven’t said it before but I’m really grateful and appreciative of all the stories you share with us. I love each and every one I read. I also re-read them periodically. You have given me dozen’s of hours of quality reading, thank you.

  16. Thank you for sharing your stories with us, no matter the fandom. The only stories of yours I haven’t liked are the ones I haven’t read yet.

Every way you spin the worlds and characters are so very enjoyable. I’ve loved and hated characters based on how you’ve portrayed them in each story… and I’ve completely gotten onboard your Weasley dislike train and see no future where I’ll get off it.

I came to you through SGA, stayed for your Harry Potter, branched into Sentinel, 9-1-1, and other fandoms because of you and Jilly, and I can’t thank you enough for sharing your imagination with us.

  17. I just found Vanguard, and I am thrilled to have new works in the Stargate realm to read. As always, your work is the best! Thank you for writing and sharing.
