Summary: In the magical world, soulmate magic is both a source of wonder and disdain. Many would have it for themselves but would destroy it when it does not benefit them. Years after the second blood war, Harry Potter finds himself on the cusp of making a terrible mistake because of loneliness and a bone-deep desire for a family. Thankfully, Magic has something to say about that and it’s revealed that he has a fated soulmate.
Draco Malfoy has lived with the knowledge that Harry Potter is his soulmate for years unwilling to let him go but convinced that Harry would want nothing to do with him. His magical circumstances after the war are wretched and he’d wish such a circumstance on no one, much less his own soulmate.
Heart’s Desire (81,800)
Years after the war, Harry is heartsore and lonely. Agreeing to marry Ginny Weasley just seemed like the thing to do, but their marriage application is rejected by the ministry because he has an active soulmate record in the Book of Souls.
