Newsletter July 2017

I think Rough Trade is going well for me but I’m very comfortable in the episode format so I didn’t expect it to be much of a challenge on that front. I essentially failed to pants though–I had to stop and plot as to avoid driving myself crazy. I’m writing episode 5 and I’m enjoying the change of pace I’ve plotted for this one.

The Russian Translation of Envy is now available on AO3.

As I announced on a podcast last month, you can listen to it below, The Wild Hare Project is now essentially out of Beta and author applications are being accepted for consideration. Not everyone is a fit, so don’t feel pressured to join us.

In my spare time, I write fanfiction and lead a cult of cock worshippers on the Internet. It's not the usual kind of hobby for a 40ish "domestic engineer" but we live in a modern world and I like fucking with people's expectations.

  1. I so have a crush on your brain.

  2. I’ve really been enjoying your Rough Trade story! My login keeps failing there, so I can’t comment.

  3. You and all the lovely writers on Rough Trade have kept me sane through July…the Saturday after July 4th I was in an minor accident that resulted in my car being declared a total loss by my insurance. I’m sad to see the July challenge done, but I’ve just restarted reading your Star Trek fic to entertain myself…so I’m having a blast rereading while I wait for the check from the insurance and try to decide to finance/buy a Prius or lease one. I will say I had a minor freak out when the announcements popped up on RT…I initially didn’t realize what they were…then my brain kicked in and I felt stupid, but considering how the month was going I’m not surprised the whole month was a case of stupidity. I’m glad I chose to not comment. I loved your Revenant series…I was enjoying everyone else’s as well, but am sad that I can’t read what I can only assume was posted in German(?)…I didn’t want to do it a disservice and try to use google translate on it as it doesn’t always translate properly. I also noticed the cool addition to the Workshop forum for artwork. Looking forward to what comes out (I just about choked on air when I noticed clowns was mentioned twice, lol). I hope this month treats everyone ( me as well) even better than last month.

  4. Hi keira, about your dead air plot drift, it never made it clear if they could have been making what was a joke in very poor taste or if they actually did it from what I can recall I love reading those 2get their comeuppance I’ve especially enjoyed Jilly’s stories and to be fair how they started treating Tony lead to me watching ncis less and less but I guess to be fair maybe there was never any response because they never actually turned it off maybe it was just another Tony put down which was common in my memory at the time. It was a horrible one and not conducive to healthy team work and I wouldn’t have blamed Tony about getting out of the team even if it had just been a joke. What are your thoughts?

    • If it had really been a joke, they wouldn’t have been surprised by how hoarse Tony sounded when he got in the car. They weren’t listening to him. I’ve talked about Dead Air multiple times on my show. I really don’t think they were joking.
