It’s Evil Author Day, the day I’ve celebrated fan works yearly since 2011 by posting works in progress I may or may not finish. And yes, there are works that are now complete that were once featured on EAD. I couldn’t tell you which at this point, but it’s happened. It will certainly happen in the future. In fact, I’m almost finished with Small Magic and All of Our Yesterdays.
And speaking of Small Magic — I received some beautiful art for it from a reader. So please make sure to scroll all the way down to check it out! I was blown away. Thanks Maggie!!!
In other news, I continue to add to my WIP folder with absolute abandon and have just over two million words in progress. I’m not accepting judgment at this time and request that you just let me live my best life on this topic.
I’m working on my QB for this year and I must say it’s a beast. I’m proud of the character work especially and look forward to sharing it with you guys in June. I finished my Big Moxie for quarter 1 2023 and I continue to be in love with wish babies.
For those of you who are interested both Warhide and Where Angels Fear to Tread from Rough Trade last year are in my second draft process and will appear on my site in the next six months or so. It depends on how my QB writing and editing goes.

You know, a lot of people say they don’t need any sort of fandom info to read my other works and I’ve got millions of words written you’ve never read. Just sayin’. 😉
I can echo that – I’ve never seen 911 or Hawaii 5-0 or NCIS or or or… except for a few clips on YouTube. Hasn’t felt like I’ve ever had trouble following (same for Jilly, Ladyholder and other Crossroads folks’ writing). Only story I haven’t read yet of yours Keira is Gra’tua.
Do it, neither one of my betas had watched The Mandalorian and had a passing fancy with Star Wars had assured me it was very readable regardless. I’m very proud of it.

Absolutely do it. I’ve read and enjoyed everything of Keiras I can get my hands on yet I’ve never seen a single episode of Stargate, 911 or the Sentinal. I’ve seen the LotR films but never watched or read the Hobbit yet will squeal like a loon if and when Small Magic is published. I’ve also only ever seen the first 6 Star Wars, a number of years ago, and although I was briefly confused by a couple of things it was a thoroughly enjoyable read that I still revisit from time to time.
I read the first half of the first Harry Potter book and took my nephew to see the first movie and was completely uninterested in more.
But I read every one of Keira’s HP stuff because they are so good. You should try some of her other stuff. You won’t be disappointed. And no, you don’t have to watch the shows and movies she bases her stories on.
In fact, I envy you all the wonderful stories you have ahead of you if you choose to explore.
Agreed! I haven’t seen half the fandoms Keira writes in, and of the ones I have, there are some pairings I ONLY read when Keira writes them because everything she touches is solid gold, and her characters are always perfect. I, too, envy everyone who hasn’t devoured everything she’s ever written, since they have so very many new favorite gems still to discover!
Thank you for this! I’m so happy to see that Small Magic will be out soon, I loved the interactions between the characters when I read it before! I don’t know how you manage to write so much, it takes me ages to get one short story out so I’m really admirative of all your work – the fact that you deliver on both quantity and quality is amazing!

I enjoy what you write so much. Lately I have been especially pleased with your 911 stories, especially if they have magic and/or Sentinel stuff in them, but mundane Buck/Eddie is pretty good too.
This was a lovely selection of things. The only bad part was that I had planned to do things today. You know, boring adult things. And laundry. Since I’m retired, I find I put that stuff off too easily, so I’ve had to get strict with myself and plan a day to do those things, and the laundry. And here I am and I have accomplished a single load of laundry and nothing else.

I hope you do some Draco-centric fanfics this year.. would love to read more of your Drarry stories. I won’t even mind some Draco Malfoy/OMC fanfics from you even though I am totally Drarry shipper. I love your Drarry fanfics, they are my favourite and I do re-read them a lot… It never gets old, looking forward to reading all the new exciting stories you come up this year and hopefully few of them would be Drarry and Draco-centric maybe.

I rarely comment on any author’s works despite reading fanfiction since I was a teen, but every time I get an email update from you I breakout in a grin. I’m a massive fan of your stories and the depth you bring to the characters. As such, I regularly re-read all of your Harry Potter series at least once, if not twice, a year because it brings me so much joy. First of all, congratulations on (almost) fifteen years of writing fanfiction. I haven’t been reading you for all that time, but it’s been more than a decade, and you’ve given me so much pleasure and entertainment, for which I thank you enormously. (And it’s not just your own writing, which I invariably love, but the writers you’ve introduced me to through Rough Trade, Quantum Bang, etc., so thank you for that also.)
As for what you wrote last year, I’ve read it all at least twice, and most of it more often, because it’s worth it. And I have to say my mind boggles at the thought of two million words in your WIP folder, but I look forward to reading whatever of it you’re happy to share.
And this year’s Evil Author Day was so welcome. Last week was honestly one of the worst of my life, and the distraction and pleasure of your stories, in particular ‘The Honour Duel’, was such a wonderful relief.
So thank you for sharing your writing, and I hope that whatever you’re currently working on goes as smoothly as possible.
