Newsletter Fall 2017

Monthly newsletters were starting to feel like a burden which is silly so I’m switching to a quarterly format because I like doing the update part but the content seemed sparse on a monthly basis.

Newsletter August 2017

The summer passed by quickly, right? I think the July challenge went very well on Rough Trade and you can read my series, Revenant, on the site until October 1st when it will be deleted in the site clean off. I’ll be working on the series off-line from now on and the episodes will be put on my own site as they leave beta.

Newsletter July 2017

I think Rough Trade is going well for me but I’m very comfortable in the episode format so I didn’t expect it to be much of a challenge on that front. I essentially failed to pants though–I had to stop and plot as to avoid driving myself crazy. I’m writing episode 5 and I’m enjoying the change of pace I’ve plotted for this one.

Newsletter June 2017

My brain is all over the place and my writing is certainly been impacted by it. I mean, seriously, I think one word another comes out of my mouth or gets typed out. It’s crazy and I know a thing or two about “making insane”.

May 2017 Newsletter

Reading Time: 1 Minutes I forgot to do a newsletter in April. Oops? I was knee deep in the RT challenge, and I did meet my word count goal for the month even if I didn’t actually finish the project. I’m about three chapters and an epilogue from finished so I’m pretty pleased with my progress since I’d been blocked on that particular story for more than a year. Darkly Loyal will remain on RT through the end of the month then it will be removed to make room for the next challenge on the site. I don’t know when it will be completed and appear in its final form on my site. Don’t ask! I’ll be picking out topics for radio shows for the rest of the summer so if you have ideas — go to the Ask Me Anything page and let me know. New Fiction The Quiet Storm  Coping Strategies  Battle Ready Works in Progress The next part in the Hold My Coffee series, Damage Control, is in beta. I’ve also updated the series page with two new character pictures. I don’t know if I announced it over here (and I’m too lazy to look), but you can currently read my work in progress, Phoenix, on the Wild Hare Project. Radio Shows The Knickers of Judgment Bitchcraft: Writing Environment and Self-Editing Bitchcraft: The Do-Over The Wild Hare Project Valium & Other Missed Opportunities Bitch Craft: Honing Your Craft Bitch Craft: From Start to Finish Bitch Craft: Fandom Characters &…

(Please note that it is being sold in English on all of these sites). I don’t know if it’ll available on other Amazon sites in the future so please don’t ask. It is being printed and distributed by Amazon exclusively, and those are the links I was given when I asked.

February 2017 Newsletter

I’m plugging right along on the writing front. The weather sucks. I’m tired of experiencing all of the seasons in a four-day cycle. I’ve been fiddling with a Girl McKay which you might have noticed and expanded my short into a story/episode. I’ve plotted about 10 of them and I’m pretty amused with the whole thing. I’ve already almost finished the second episode and it’ll probably go into beta next week sometime.

January 2017 Newsletter

I’ve been fucking around with a few ideas for the new year both for writing and for other stuff in regards to my site and Rough Trade. I announced the July challenge for Rough Trade which you can check out here. I’m looking forward to it. My mood is improving and I’ve been writing which is good. I’ve only picked out two projects to share on Evil Author Day but I’m still looking through my stuff to see what else might be viable.

December 2016 Newsletter

I really don’t have much to say since I’m all blah and shit. There were no radio shows in November because of National Novel Writing Month. I did complete 50k during the month but I still feel like I failed the challenge since it is a disjointed mess that I can’t even open at present because it is so frustrating.

November 2016 Newsletter

Sometimes I hate my brain because it never stops. Just about half way through my NANO story, I came to realize that my structure is deeply flawed. This comes from a creator perspective because I’m not getting there in the writing and by “there” I mean I’m not seeing the story develop the way I wanted it to develop. The premise is a lot bigger in my head than what I’ve been able to put down in real, actual words.

The Yellow Brick Road

As we approach another NaNoWriMo and people set up their projects on Rough Trade, it is inevitable that new readers will stumble upon the site and join. Most often, they’ve strolled into RT from fandom. They’ve followed a favorite writer, or they saw the sign-up, or they saw a recommendation on some site regarding a previous story, and they’re looking for it. We’ve had about 500 people join RT since October 1, 2016.

October 2016 Newsletter

You might have noticed a bunch of shorts being posted to my site. They’re my responses to short prompts we are hosting on RT. They’re literally writing exercises for me and I’m sharing them here because I figured you might want to read them. They are not “ideas or prompts” that you can take and expand on. I’m serious. Don’t take my work and expand it — that is really fucking rude to be both do and to do suggest.
