Reading Time: 116 MinutesPrologue-Chapter Four Chapter Five-Chapter Nine * * * * Chapter Ten July 29, 1996 “As their mother, I believe I have a right to know what kind of ritual is going to be taking place, Arthur.” Harry shared a pointed look with Draco and focused on his oatmeal. The last thing he wanted was to have that particular conversation with Mrs. Weasley. He’d been content to let her husband handle it, except the man was obviously suffering under the strain of the secrecy charms of the conclave. He’d broken out in a sweat already. “Enough,” Draco snapped and Harry blinked in surprise. “Mrs. Weasley, is it your intention to give your husband a heart attack?” He demanded. He summoned a glass from the cabinet and filled it with water, which he pressed on the elder Weasley. “He is not allowed to discuss the business of our conclave with you or anyone else outside of it.” Molly blinked in surprise. “But, I’m their mother and Ron is underage.” “Your husband will be there and I believe we can all agree that he would not allow your children to participate in a ritual that would damage them emotionally or physically,” Draco returned evenly. “This ritual is very important and none of us need the additional stress you’re causing.” He refilled Arthur’s glass with a murmured charm. “It isn’t as if we’re going to sacrifice a unicorn and dance naked under a blood moon while we chant the Lord’s Prayer…
Reading Time: 218 MinutesGo back to the Prologue – Chapter Four * * * * Chapter Five July 10, 1996 Draco Malfoy was in the kitchen with Harry—they were moving around each other as if they had been doing it for years. It was the first time Molly had seen them since Malfoy’s arrival. They’d stayed on the fourth floor behind the family wards for almost two full days; having Dobby or Kreacher bring their meals no matter how often she’d complained about it. Molly stared at them for a long time, watching them tease each other gently and every time they touched a little spark of gold brushed over the skin that had met no matter how briefly. It was enlightening to say the least. There hadn’t been any gold light the first night that she could remember when they greeted each other upon Malfoy’s arrival. Harry turned and snagged Malfoy’s waist as he slid around him. He pulled him close and pressed a warm affectionate kiss on Draco’s mouth. The blond laughed and hooked his fingers in the belt loops of Harry’s jeans. “You taste good,” Harry murmured. “I’ve been sneaking some of the coffee you had Dobby buy.” “Cinnamon is your favorite,” Harry responded. “I figured you might like a little taste of home in this strange, strange world we find ourselves in.” He leaned in and kissed him again. Molly’s breath caught as a bright rush of gold light flashed over both young men. They jerked…

He caught his lover’s hand and curled their fingers together around his morning erection. “But you could help me change my mind.” Draco Malfoy hummed. “It is a beautiful sunny Monday morning—perfect for traipsing about the country seeking naughty wizards who do bad things.” He ran his thumb over the head of Harry’s cock and pressed a kiss…

Author’s Notes: SEE THE SERIES PAGE FOR FULL AUTHOR NOTES. I RECOMMEND YOU READ THEM! Summary: A single day can change everything. Notes: For the purposes of this series, Atlantis has a 25 hour day and all members of the expedition adhere to this time format on world and off. On the military clock, 0000 Hours equals 12:00AM and 1200 Hours equals 12:00pm. This means the day on Atlantis starts at 0000 Hours and ends at 2500 Hours. While the people on Earth don’t adhere to that schedule, I’ve labeled scenes on Earth and on the Daedalus on that schedule to keep things orderly and also that you, the reader, don’t lose track of where I am in this very long day. * * * * 0000 Hours—Atlantis Chase Harris shivered and arched into the bite of Ethan Marsh’s belt. His back was hot with welts and slick with sweat, while his cock was straining painfully against the restriction of his boxers and BDUs. He took two more blows in near silence before groaning, ragged and breathless. Ethan laughed, low and a little…

Go with it. It won’t hurt you. Summary: Sarek takes his family back to Vulcan for the formal adoption of T’Mara. * * * * Jim loved space. Maybe it was because he hadn’t been born on a planet or maybe it was the adventure of it all. He really couldn’t be sure. He was sitting in a small observation deck on the Sh’Vor, a Vulcan Suurok class starship that had once been used for exploration and now appeared to exist solely for the transport of T’Pau. The entire crew’s official job was to take her wherever she wanted to go as far as Jim could tell. In the lull of travel, the Sh’Vor was one big science experiment. The research that came from the vessel on the course of those trips made scientists all over the Federation stupid with jealousy. T’Pau answered to no one and therefore traveled where ever she liked to see whatever was interesting. “You are well, James Kirk?” Jim turned and found the Matriarch of his clan staring at him pointedly. He immediately rolled to his feet, embarrassed to be caught sprawling in the window seat of the observation lounge. He raised his hand in salute,…

The Sentinels had felt it for weeks—building in the atmosphere. Atlantis had readily supplied weather data when Radek asked, it was no question how she catered to him. They’d prepared for it in every way they could. Evacuating the Athosians to the city and launching the shield using the generators from Sateda had been risky so most of the civilians and the Athosians had went through the gate to an allied planet. At least, John had considered the people an ally. The Athosians had traded with them for generations. Cameron and Vala were in a Jumper above the planet—monitoring the progress of the storm and gathering as much data as they could on what the geeks had labeled a “super hurricane”. Lorne had taken command of everyone off world—taking all of the civilians that weren’t remotely useful with him and the majority of the Marines to protect them. This was supposed to be a fucking cake walk. It had been a cake walk until he’d heard the report of weapons fire and lost the heartbeats of three of the Marines who had been on guard duty in the gateroom. John pulled his Guide close and turned so he was between them in whatever…

Reading Time: 2 MinutesMany of you might think that SOPA won’t have any impact on you — you aren’t a software pirate, after all. You don’t download illegal music. You don’t download or sell illegal copies of movies or books. It’s not a problem, right? WRONG. The problem isn’t that SOPA will hamper our “funtimes” on Youtube (well it would) or that it would make legitimate website owners freak out (it so would) it’s that the bill wasn’t written by people who actually understand how the Internet works and more importantly — it wasn’t written by someone who respects the Freedom of Speech. Intellectual Property Rights are for the INDIVIDUAL — not companies. They were put into law to protect the rights of writers, artists, and musicians and to give them the MONEY they needed to live so that they could create more work. It was never designed to limit or destroy free thinking, innovation, or the creation of transformative works (like fan fiction). I don’t believe corporations should be have this kind of power in our country. There is a link on my Facebook wall right now that could shut down all of Facebook if this law passed. In fact, there are several since I adore YouTube (which would not survive SOPA). Twitter might last 24 hours before someone posted a link to content they shouldn’t and then bam– they lose their account OR the government comes in and tells Twitter they are toast. OR they could try — because SOPA has no…

McKay is fresh out of a relationship and John isn’t interested in ruining their friendship with a rebound thing. Rodney waited for years for John Sheppard to look at him. Pike was out of uniform and the Vulcan Ambassador was dressed as casually any one could ever have the right to expect—his outer robe was quite plain and somewhat thin but still provided him a much-needed buffer against the cooler temperatures Humans needed to maintain optimal levels of performance. They were both common place in the facility, especially on Friday evenings when they were often forced to bodily retrieve Leonard McCoy from his office and escort him across town to sit down at Amanda Grayson’s table like a civilized person. Sarek found the ritual of it all soothing in its normalcy. Leonard would complain quite loudly while he gathered himself and closed his office for the day and then they would take the car Starfleet kept on hand for the Commodore across the city to Sarek’s residence where Amanda waited. Pike had jokingly referred to her as the woman in his life and Sarek supposed it was true. Amanda apparently had no problems asserting her authority over all of them at any given time. He…

Jack O’Neill realizes something important about Charlie and goes to visit his ex-wife. * * * * The water was unbearable but not being clean was even more of an issue. Chase curled his fists against the wall and took the punishing spray of lukewarm water while his body shivered with pain. He swallowed a groan and took a deep breath as his heartrate elevated and adrenalin spiked as his senses processed the stinging pain sweeping over his skin. The mission hadn’t been simple but it certainly hadn’t been the kind of clusterfuck of epic proportions he’d been warned about before he ever stepped through the gate. The planet hadn’t been that far off Earth-norm but it didn’t take much to utterly fuck up a Sentinel. But, John and the rest of the Sentinels from Earth were off-world with Ronon and Tyre doing some warrior-Sentinel bonding thing to do with his being their Alpha that he really didn’t understand and none of them had been able to offer a satisfying explanation. Reading Time: 7 MinutesThis post contains SPOILERS. If you have not finished No Enemy Within you should back out and come back when you finish. 😉 Pretty spoiler space by FanArts Series When I started creating my series bible (January/February 2009) for Lantean Legacy I wrote down a few things and it went like this: 1. Sentient Atlantis 2. Abandoned by Earth 3. Left for Dead in Pegasus (I called it this for MONTHS) 4. Earth gets told to fuck off by the expedition 5. Will use Latin for the “Ancient language” because that makes the most sense. After I had my basic idea I started to thinking about the mental gifts the Alterans had before the ascended. Gifts we didn’t see in any of the people in the Alteran galaxy (Ori episodes) except for the priors of course which weren’t the “normal” for that galaxy. So, I started thinking about how they might have come to have the mental abilities and their crazy life span. It bothered me that Elizabeth got old in stasis pad after 10 thousand years but that one Ancient chick apparently hung out in a stasis pod frozen in ice for a very long while and came out looking like a super model. Okay, so what about the Ancients that got so old they couldn’t leave the stasis pods on the Aurora because they got too old after 10,000 years? Then there was Merlin (frowns). Just how long was he in that cave? Okay, so…
Reading Time: 28 Minutes“General Sheppard, please report to the control room!” John’s head jerked up and he hissed when Anne Teldy followed through on her swing and smacked him broadly across the back with her bantos rod. He shook off her apologies and jogged over to retrieve his radio off the desk. They hadn’t used the citywide announcement system in weeks because Chuck had come out of the CIC with the unique ability to communicate with everyone, no matter their gene therapy status, telepathically. For him to get so flustered that he actually used the intercom was something to be concerned over. “Control. What’s going on?” John took the towel Teldy offered and exited the gym as Chuck excitedly told him that there were three ships of unknown origin on course for Atlantis. “How far out?” “Twenty minutes and closing fast, sir.” “Ally!” John shouted and stumbled on the stairs when she didn’t immediately appear. With the increase in the power of her systems, she could appear in ten different places at once without straining her central processor. He entered the control room and was stunned to not find her. “Atlantis Collective, designation Primitus Civitas, present yourself immediately!” “She can’t,” Rodney snapped as he left one console in favor of another. “Her central core is receiving an information dump on a level I’ve never seen in my entire life. All three ships are transmitting to her and have been since they dropped out of hyperspace. It’s taking up every bit…
Reading Time: 42 MinutesThe new military uniforms were black, not much different in design or implementation from the ones they’d all worn from the SGC, outside of the use of pseudo leather in the field jackets, and combat boots. Rank insignia had been distributed much the same way the uniforms had and the military personnel had signed off on the new military code with little to no fanfare. John hadn’t been surprised—by the time he reached the enlisted personnel everyone had been informed so the surprise had worn off. It was the civilians that were the problem. One of them, and John wasn’t entirely sure which, was in the gateroom giving off a high level of anxiety and building anger. There were about 30 people currently in the gateroom—preparing for a first contact mission that was going to last a week or more. A Jumper had already been prepped in the Jumper Bay and Elizabeth was going over the final points on the cultural information they’d managed to gather for Bates, who was leading the two teams off-world. Elizabeth separated from Bates and went over to Captain Chase Harris who had taken on the role of flight commander. All Jumpers on and off world were his responsibility and John was pleased with the level of competence and dedication the scientist had already demonstrated. He’d gone back into the simulator shortly after he’d signed his commission papers with the new military and completed a series of courses on the construction, repair,…
Reading Time: 17 MinutesJohn decided mid-way through his sixth meeting on military procedures with the committee, which consisted of him, Rodney, Elizabeth, and two representatives from the mainland, that he absolutely hated meetings with very few exceptions. He cleared his throat suddenly and they all turned to look at him—the two men from the mainland were Genii and former soldiers in their military. He was pretty fucking sure one of them had been involved in the invasion of the city during the first year but for the sake of peace no one had brought that incident up. “All active military assets will have to reside on the city. Period. In order to live on the city, all active duty military assets must be gene carriers. The weapons and ships that the city will supply us with will only work for gene carriers. These points aren’t negotiable. However, I’m amenable to a militia on the mainland for defense against the Wraith if we are attacked from orbit again.” “Only the city can determine who receives the Lantean gene therapy,” one of the Genii men pointed out. “That means she will control who can join the military forces on the city.” “She will control who lives on her,” John clarified. “I think under the circumstances we can all agree that it is Atlantis’ right to determine who is allowed to live here and who isn’t. The city is a sentient life form and anyone who cannot treat Atlantis with the respect she…
Reading Time: 17 Minutes“You mean the planet we’re on…” Rodney trailed off. It had been three hours since the ZPM had come out of the NCL and they were in the regular staff meeting discussing Theseus’ desire to return to the planet he’d claimed for his home in Pegasus. It was a daunting and overwhelming subject for them to stay the least. “Isn’t the planet we originally chose once we reached this galaxy. In fact, we’ve been on over two hundred planets since arriving.” “And Earth?” John questioned. “Theseus matured on Earth and I was born there, but many of the materials that were integrated into the super structure came from different worlds within the Milky Way Galaxy and beyond.” A hologram spun gently over the center conference table, displaying a beautiful Earth-like world. “This is Lantea. It was chosen for its plentiful natural resources, fertile land, and abundant sea life. Theseus agreed with the choice because it was the most like Earth of all the planets they considered once we arrived here. He chose it as his homeworld in this galaxy.” “Why did the Ancients leave Lantea?” John leaned forward and took a deep breath. “Are there any problems in the local system that we need to worry about? Are any of the planets in orbit with Lantea inhabited? How many of them have functioning stargates?” “Scientific exploration. There was a time when we were used as a traveling research center. Then, when the Wraith conflict picked up, we…
Reading Time: 31 MinutesJohn walked swiftly into his quarters and paused briefly at the sight of the sprawled form of McKay across the bed they’d been sharing for weeks. The scientist was unconscious, again. He wondered how he’d lasted through getting the new geeks settled considering the lack of sleep he’d gotten over the last four days. Sheppard sat down on the edge of the bed and ran his hand over Rodney’s t-shirt covered back. The scientist shifted under his hand and rolled over with a sigh. “Hey.” “Hey.” John leaned down and kissed his unresisting mouth with a smile. “Pretty interesting day we’ve had so far.” “Days that begin at the ass crack of dawn are always interesting—most of the time not in a good way.” Rodney wiggled under the covers and sighed. “The new people kept staring at me like I was a freak. I think I forgot about the appearance thing until they all just kept staring.” “Yeah, dropping ten years got old fast,” John admitted. “One of the new officers asked point blank about it. I was surprised that none of the Marines did when I met with them—I think the people from the SGC are generally very jaded.” He rolled onto his side and propped his head up. “I’m kind of surprised to see you here.” Rodney flushed. “My bed isn’t as comfortable as yours.” John quirked an eyebrow. “We have the same exact mattress, McKay.” “Not true,” Rodney insisted. “Besides, your quarters were closer…
